Your not to mix beer with hard liquor....I do nothing happens...but you have to have been drinking for quite some time to get that.... I would not recommed it if your a newbe... you'll see why.... ;)

On a somewhat serious note, I think drinking laws in Canada and the US are utterly moronic! :rolleyes:

My parents (European) started giving me *small* quantitities of wine and beer when I was a child. When I was ten, I was regularly drinking a full glass of wine mixed with water at mealtimes. By the time I was 15, I was permitted to drink anything that was in the house.

The end result is that I did not go out and get hammered as soon as I reached the legal drinking age. Instead, I ended up having a healthy respect for the stuff, and there has never been any big mystique for me.

I am actually a very moderate drinker, and I always have been. We are taking the same approach with our son. At ten, he can discern particular flavours and nuances in a wine, so he is coming along very nicely :D

Better than soe of our other laws. your aware of the legal age of consent in Calgary, right? I thhink that should be raised a little...

My family is scottish. I have been drinking minute amounts of whisky foir years, until I finally turned 19. Then they taught me the art of moderation.

Not a little drinker. Not a heavy one either. I am the happy medium. :D

Other than totally agreeing with you Dw, i have a bussiness proposition that my make The Tap and Tea a better place all together, we hear at Gland Cream Inc. would like to offer oyu a contract, an one time only opportunity that really is to die for, we would like you to be the sole distributor of our fine products, seeing as the FRDA restricts its sale in the U.S. and The Tap and Tea is in canada, i tihnk this should be a wonderous joining of two great bussinesses. *shows DW a brief case beairng name "signing bonus" filled with one million dollars*

My parents are the same, if I would like to try a wine or something they let me, although I really dont feel the need to try it (I take one sip and am done :D ). One state in the US (not sure which one) if your over 16 you can legally drink as long as your parents are at the bar.

@Phreddie,
er, interesting idea, but no thanks :D I can't say I'm really into "gland cream." At least, not the variety you seem to be hawking :eek:

There's all kinds of stuff to drink here. There is casual food like burgers, tacos, nachos etc. So you'll just need to make do with that.

@Chu,
Exactly. When you are allowed to know what it tastes like, it really is no big deal. I think my first experience with Scotch was at 15. I took one sip and spat it into the nearest sink :D

then they got crappy roads. the reason every state sets the drinking age at 21 instead of 16 or 18 is becuase the federal government gives them desperatley needed extra money for teh underfunded transportation departments, so if they set it lower at say 16 no road money. its a vicious cycle.
