Irenicus immortal !!!!

OK, at the end of my first time, during the final battle i killed everyone and only "the good" irenicus was left. I don't know why but he didn't attack me: he stand in his irritating combat position with my party making continuous critical hits on his body.....he was always near death but was never dying. After 30 minutes of kicking his a** it beacame irritating

I reloaded and finally killed him. Anyone of you ever experimented this frustrating feeling during the game??
