i sold the spirit of indrel to this guy and he equipped it and has equipped some great armor i sold him. he changes his clothes with the best i sell him, my question is if i sold him something i would need to complete a quest would he equip that as well. when he does equip items i cant buy them from him. :)

He will equip the best of anything you sell him, so if the quest item isn't the best he has in stock, he won't equip it. You can also stop the equipping (if you're on a PC) by using a mod that prevents this. There's at least one over at Morrowind Summit.

You could also sell your gear to Creeper, the scamp who resides in Ghorak Manor in Caldera. He won't equip anything you sell him.

However, he buys everything at full value unless it needs repairing, and he has a relatively large sum of cash. These two aspects can significantoy unbalance the game.

Go to Mournhold the Craftsman in the Craftsman's Hall has a 8000 limit and the smith has a 10000 limit.
Wondering how vampires live the life they live.....
seriously I dont know how they sleep during the day, I have a twitch everytime I hear a loud sound as I slumber, everytime ....Im just waiting to pounce on the poor mortal who creates a sound while I sleep in during the day. /rant

True, but depending on the quality, those merchants may still equip gear that you sell them.

Then I would advice when selling your equipment to merchants make sure its glass because you can actually find an abundance of that armor everywhere... ;)
