windspear hills: vamps

ive already read through the defeating vamps section of the strategy guide but i dont have sunfire<?> or daystar and that seems to be the basis of most of the tips. i enter the room in windspear hills and am pitted against about 4 or 5 vamps, 3 or 4 mummies, and a couple of ghasts. any ideas on beating them? i use negative plane protection but it just doesnt let me beat them any faster. any help will be much appreciated. thanks.

fighter/thief lvl 9/11 around there i think

i have minsc, aerie, nalia, jaheira, and viconia in my party

Have you tried turn undead.

Do you have Amulet of Power?

Try to divide them. Let them come to you so you don't have to take them on all at once.

well you have a lot of summoning abilities....have your party well hidden in the chamber near the vampire one and you thief with stealth near the vampires, so that you can see the area; have vic. summon a skeleton; have your skeleton walk to the vampires but be careful, only 1-2 vamps per time must follow your skeleton. With the rest of your mages summon some more creatures and have minsc use bow. That's it. Pros: you aren't level drained
Cons: none

Nevermind, it's a ch 3 thing. It protects from level drain. That's why I asked.

Have you tried to lure them out a couple at a time. Does turn undead affect them? If Viconia is high enough (which I doubt) she could make them fight for you. It's worth a try though.

You have improved haste? That's a battle winner. Summon some fire elementals with Jaheira. Holy smite works well too(if you get Viconia out of the area) Defensive Harmony is very useful as well.
