Help with Vurtaag's quest
Help with Vurtaag's quest
I completed the Unholy arc long ago, spoke to Valkrya and got the password. Went on my merry way through the Shadow ruins, placed the fourth relic, and tried to get past the council of stones to no avail. When I speak to the stones, the only option is "let me in". I have no saves from back before doing the arc. Am I screwed? The whole vial of blood quest never went away from my quest list, but I figured that was just a "normal" bug. I am running with the 1.3 patch. Help!
How'd you get the relic?
As previously posted, the vial of blood at the unholy arc gets you the password for the Tomb of Souls. If you skipped it and went to the Shadow Ruins then how did you get the 4th relic?
If you didn't skip it then you need to talk to Vartuug (give him his eye). He'll give you the password to the labrynth.

There isn't a relic in the tomb of souls. The fargrove catacombs, naga temple, dreadoth and shadow ruins = 4 relics.
But you have to finish tomb of souls before you can go for the 5th relic. Don't worry about the quest log entry about the vial of blood; it is a little buggy, just head to the tomb. D

I tried to get to the tomb, but I can't get past the stones. The password does not show up as an option when I speak to them.

The tomb of souls is in that area northwest of lake dire. It is a stone one story square building. The stone heads block the entrance to the black swamp. In the black swamp is the maze of Irynthabl. D

There might be some confusion here. The Council of Stones is in the Forbidden Lands, and they block the way to the Irynthabl Maze. The Tomb of Souls is way up north in the Demigoth Lands.

Sir Edmund: "Should you obey the lord who asks you to put a village of innocents to the torch? Is that chivalrous? Is it noble?"
Me: "It's a great way to get promoted, I know that much."
i heard the you need a key from one of the gaurds in the naga temple to get into or need it in thr tombs of souls, is this true and do i really need it?
You don't need the key to get in to the tomb of souls but once in you need the key to access a small room. In the small room are 2 chests with nice treasure and a sarcophagus with one big bad demon. It is one nasty fight (though there is an exploit to kill him fairly easily) and he is worth 1.5 million exp give or take. So no you don't really need the key. Save the fight for your next time through the game. There is a sticky thread that tells you how to edit the key in to your inventory but edit your game at your own risk. D
