dire spider

what do i have to do ro defeat a dire spider?

Ehh?? You have to kill it - like any monster in the game.

Buff up your party, perhaps take a long another henchmen, use differnt weapons - possible with higher enchantment bonus, use different spells, get better equipment before trying, level up before trying etc.....

I'd wear an item with the "Freedom" property, so you don't get tangled in the spider's web. Also wear something against poisoning.

i found the earlier dire spiders quite tough and found traps and ranged weapons very effective. later on they are a lot easier cos by then you have stuff to protect from poison etc. As a solo mage/sorceror i also found summoning monsters and letting them take the brunt of the damage while casting spells from a distance to be very effective too.

Try using any henchmen/summoned monsters/familiars as meat machines while you pluck away with ranged weapons,if you can,get hold of some enhanced arrows or bolts.If you get hit too many times use the stone of recall and get lady A to heal you and go back to finish the job in hand.
