Does someone have a complete list of VTM:B console commands. I've tried using google, didn't do much good.
I've noticed that the rain in Santa Monica slows down the framerate considerably. The best way to observe this is when you reach the thin bloods. The FPS is particularly awful there. When you climb up through the chainlink gates to take care of the surfers, the framerate is a lot better. There's still a lot of polygons down there, the whole peer is still visible, the only difference is there is no more rain. Maybe if I can disable the rain somehow, the framerate will get better.
I have 1 GB ram, P4 2.6 Ghz, Gainward 6800gt GS (@400/1100). It's sad to see such an unoptimised version of the source engine. HL2 runs normally at higher resolutions and more complex levels.
If you just want to disable the rain effects you don't need to go into the console. Go to where you've installed the game and look in the \vampire\cfg folder to find the config.cfg file. Open this with notepad and search for the following entry:

I do not have that entry in my CFG file. Wierd, anyone know a reason why I wouldn't? My frame rate is terrible with rain on as well. TIA

There are a number of config entries that are part of a CFG file that only becomes available if you've unpacked your packed game files.

Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for you are crunchy, and good with Ketchup.
cool I will look into unpacking them, I tried adding the lines but they didn't work that way. wierd but I got it a lil more managable so even if it don't work it is still very playable. Unless I get into combat in the rain., Might be an issue.
I had it in my config without unpacking anything, and changing it worked, to the extend that it stopped the rain. Still a bit slow in Santa Monica, lots of NPC's seems to have a large impact on performance as well.
