Anyone create their own party?
I was wondering if anyojne played multi with their own party... and if so, who they put in there. I'm playing with the following party...
Me - (Half-Elf Ranger imported from BG1)
Elf Archer (Ranger Kit)
Gnome Cleric/Thief
Human Invoker
And I have Keldorn and Haer'Dalis as NPC's.
Granted this makes the game a lot easier, but it cuts down on the annoying NPC chatter (annoying IMO). Anyway, I think that the result is a party with almost no weaknesses, but if anyone thinks they have a better one please let me know...

I haven't played Icewind Dale... is it as good as BG 1 & @? Also, granted Haer'Dalis isn't the best, but I rarely use him for the offensive...mostly for his Bard Song and to identify items. Since he can fight a little bit, I use him to guard my mage and theif/cleric at the back in case of of "apparition attacks". He can also cast a few spells.
It's about as good as BG1.Doesn't compare to BG2.....1 Plus is their is a expansion coming out with some of the upgrades from BG2 .

My party
Neutral evil, human, Kensai (imported from BG1, 19 str/dex/con)
Neutral evil, elf, Assasin
Chaotic evil, half-elf, Sorcerer
Not having a cleric indeed gives some difficulty to the game. Unlike many people say, it isn't hard to finish the game without other mage than Sorcerer. It isn't any harder, it just takes much more planning on what spells you choose to take. For now it has worked very nice. Pure Kensai is actually quite easy to play, for any hard fight my sorcerer casts spirit armor to my Kensai lowering his AC to -10. Combined tank and slaughtering machine Assasin is IMO definetely the best thief-class. For some reason higher backstabb-multiplier (7x) isn't in description, neither is poison's slow-ability at lvl 15

I am playing two games simultanuesly (misspelled that, didn't I?) the one pure-single player (me half Orc Berserker - this mf kicks some very serious ass - Viconia (isn't she lovely?) Korgan (i just love this guy!) Keldorn (for that darn sword, ofcourse, and he's got some serious problems there with Korgie) Nalia and Joshimo (I know, I know, I am getting into the asylum now and... I know, but i need a thief, i cannot play without a thief).
With my second party - made by Ubik, that is me - i am about to take the boat to Spellhold. This is
Human Thief/Mage (PC-dual classed to mage at level 10, done all the quests and now i am a 10/11)
Cleric
Paladin (undead hunter, actually)
Berserker
Sorcerer
and one NPC at time (right now it is Nalia, i guess when i free Imoen she will come along - done allmost all of the NPC quests by rotating them)
I think this party is waaaaaaaay overpowered. In Hard setting i had difficulties only with the red (Fircraag) draggie - the rest looked like whimpy battles.
btw, i guess you ppl are copying the multisave into the singlesave folder and carry on as single (there is some hassle in multi, if you know what I mean). I did so.

Dear Maurice-Silicon Valley-Anderson
Actually, it is a regular journalist but who's beyond formality. If you are interested (and i bet you are, usually big-titty blonds allways ARE interested in me hahahaha ) I am working as an editor (not a field reporter, for the last year) and... that's all.
As for LMgdfAO... well, if Buck ain't gonna kick my arse (I suppose he won't ...but, again, who knows?) i could tell ya that it means "god damn bloody f***ing"...
Enlighted, Pammy?

Very much! O thank you so much <big hug>
Say, you wouldn't accidently take any video tapes from my villa, now would you? The other day we were missing one, and that silly reporter had taken it with him, thinking it was his ... well, never mind, he said he lost it somewhere ... and I don't believe there was anything special on it.

IMO, Icewind Dale is the worst of the series (Planescape, BG1, BG2). I happen to enjoy the NPC interaction in all of the other games, especially Planescape. BG2 outdoes Planescape in every other area, but Planescape had some great characters. Mortie was just hilarious. I felt so...lonely when I was playing Icewind Dale. It always felt like I was hundreds of miles from civilization. But gamers in general rated it better than BG2...go figure (must be those Diablo fanatics). The sites themselves rated BG2 better, of course. Overall, Icewind Dale sports a lot of action, but the storyline is too linear and character development is nonexistent. It's a real dungeon crawler.Originally posted by red_hill_miner:

My party of six, which has been through BG and BG2 was;
Fighter
Ranger
Druid
Thief (Swashbuckler for BG2)
Conjurer
Necromancer
A bit lacking in combat at times, but as long as the front two could hold the baddies at a distance, there was heaps of spellpower to blast them.
I currently have a party of:
Kensai
Paladin
Cleric
Swashbuckler
Skald
Sorcerer
A better combat group - seems easier than the first batch. You miss all the NPC quests though.
