I was reading through the topic about Vhailor's Helm, when I encounted a link to the sweet site, Baldurdash
So many patches, and fixes that if you've never been there, go there now. Hell, there's even a few AI changes, one being that Dragons react to being attacked off screen by Cloudkill or having their resistances lowered.
Of course, there are also patches for problems you may not have encountered yet, but if you did, would be damn annoyed by.
There's nothing more tedious than having to play by unwritten rules because of design flaws

Personally I reccomend you just download the big EXE which holds all the bugfixes (but none of the tweaks, like restoring Grandmastery to what it was).
Of course, the bugfix list makes interesting reading.

How do these bugfixes compare to Bioware's own? Any compatibility issues?
None so far...i've played the Baldurdash Version start to finish and had no problems other than those of my own making
A lot of the patches are 'common sense' ie; wand of cloud kill no longer working on MR nasties, ioun stones worn by any class etc. All in all its an excellent site and you can pick what patches you want to install.

I used the patch for Boots of Speed, hoping to get the extra attacks, but had something weird happen instead. I had two characters with the Boots and the patch made one pair inactive. My Player Character had a pair as did Anomen and Anomen's pair quit working. When I switched the boots between the characters, my Player Character still had the Boot advantages but Anomen did not. I then went back to the Override folder and removed the patch and, viola, both pair of boots worked again.

Actually I would point out that kopywrit is wrong. The Ioun stone change is one of their "tweaks" rather than part of their bugfix (since Bioware made the stones that way on purpose rather than by mistake). If you download the main bugfix file you will find it is not included.
As for how it compares to Biowares patch....the idea is that it is installed after the patch and resolves all the issues that were raised, or ntoiced, after Biowares final patch.

tweaks, bug fix, what ever
I remember using ioun stones in P&P and prefer the game that way...it is optional as to whether you install this or any of the other tweaks or not.
For instance i kept the pickpocketing 2 rings of Gaxx quirk in - its all down to personal preferences.
Yes, but to people who want to play BG2 "As it was intended" the difference is very important.

Scanning for sarcasm....
Incidently, the webmaster of the page has informed me that there could well be a further update tonight, with about five fairly complicated (to implement) fixes posted.

I've heard this before, and every time it was because the fixed Boots were doing what they were supposed to: not working when the character is wearing the Ring Of Free Action. Is this is the case? I just tried them on a party of six. Five characters wearing them were hasted...the one with the Ring Of Free Action wasn't.Originally posted by Madison the Gray:
