Adamantitegolems and Sun?

Post by tigerone »

Does anyone know if False Dawn/Sunray works on Adamantite Golems? It would make sense if this is supposedly drow material...

I don't think it would. Mostly because I have faught Adamianite Golems in the sun. I think it would mildly irritate it...

I dunno. I used the DayStar Long Sword's power on it, and it actually took damage from it, so maybe it would take damage from the spells...provided the damn thing doesn't make its save.

It does not. Adamantine Golems are neither undeads nor a drow equipment. Sunlight does not harm them.
Note: False Dawn and Sunray should dissipate drow equipment on the drows in the Underdark - this seems to be logical enough. Well, the spells do not dissipate drow equipment.

Slightly off-topic but, what's the difference between Admantite(from the golems) and Adamantium(used for Drow equipment)?

I have yet to hear a really good explanation of this, but I think Adamantium is supposed to be the magically refined alloy made from adamantite.

Drow equipment made from this alloy is imbued with "radiation" from the Underdark. Whenever this equipment is away from the Underdark (and drow cities) for too long, it disintegrates. This is to prevent drow equipment from getting into the hands of the enemies (and consequently made Drizzt's journey a pain...see Salvatore's Dark Elf Trilogy for more on this). Drow who are on missions that will take them away from the underdark for a while usually have to leave their drow equipment behind.
