Importing a character into BG2 using two BG1 mods

Post by dragon wench »

Inspired by some excellent fan fiction, I am feeling inspired to begin a BG1 game. I have TOSC, and I just downloaded the recent Weidu version of Dark Side of the Sword Coast, as well as BG1 Adventures 1.04.

I may, at the end of it, transport my character into BG2. My question is, will using the two afore-mentioned mods cause any problems?

Oh, and in case anyone wonders, I'm not using Tutu.

Cheers! :)

Probably won't cause any trouble.

If I recall correctly, the documentation for an early version of DSotSC stated that your character could not be imported into BG2. But that could have changed after all these years. If your character possesses custom items that do not exist in BG2, that might cause problems. Does the documentation say anything about it?

In my experience, there are problems with importing characters from BG1 to BG2 even if you don't use mods. The BG2 importing script enforces the experience cap EVEN if you use an experience cap remover, and the importing script attempts to recalculate your character's hit points and usually gets it completely wrong. So I don't bother trying to import BG1 characters. Since I would have to use ShadowKeeper to make corrections anyway, I roll up new characters and edit them with ShadowKeeper to get exactly what I want.
