Simultaneous faction memberships?

Simultaneous faction memberships?
I joined the Xaositects early in my game (I'm taking a Chaotic Good path), and then, later on, joined the Sensates (not the inherited membership from your previous incarnations: bona fide membership). I went to my statistics screen from TNO, and found that if I clicked on the faction symbol of the Sensates, it switched to Xaositects. I guess you can be a simultaneous member of more than one faction. How does this work? Is it just the Xaositects for which you can be multi-factioned? Or can you simultaneously be in any one of the "open" factions (Dustmen, Sensates, Godsmen), and also be a member of both "secret" factions (Anarchists, Xaositects)?

Okay, I've found that I can be a Godsman, a Xaositect, and an Anarchist simultaneously. I think I might be able to be a Sensate too, if I pick "lie to infiltrate the Sensates as an Anarchist" options. I tried joining the Sensates while being sketchy about my previous faction, and I ended up being a Sensate/Godsman/Xaositect, and dropping the Anarchists.
Anyone have an experience multi-factioning?

I haven't managed to get two faction membership at the same time, probably because i usually either joined the Dustman first, or if i declined I'd joined either the Sensates or Godsmen...
I think in one of the thread it was mentioned that it is possible to be multiple faction member. And it is only possible by the way you've described....if my memory serves me right

So far, I've managed to get 4 faction membership simultaneously (membership measured by which of the group icons shows up on your status screen).
Key points are:
Ignore Dustman faction member.
Ask to join Godsmen before any other faction.
Become very chaotic, join Chaosmen (and possibly become their Factol), before you finish joining Godsmen.
Finish Godsmen joining quests.
Join the Anarachists.
Then infiltrate the Dustmen using Anarchist dialogue option.
Surprisingly, infiltrating the dustmen actually grants you the icon (and ability to use dustmen items). If you started this quest early and then choose to join dustmen, certain Dustmen joining quests become incompetible.
At this point in time, you should have Chaosmen/Dustmen/Godsmen/Anarchists. You can then join the Sensates at the expense of Dustmen, Godsmen or Anarchists. Unfortunately, infiltrating the Sensates after getting Dustmen doesn't seem to give you the icon, and as far as I can tell, getting all 5 factions is impossible. I usually ditch the Anarchists for Sensates as Anarchists have served their purpose of granting 2 extra faction. Also curious is that Fell will sell you Anarchist tattoo after you ditch them.
I'm not quite sure whether or not becoming a factol of the Chaosmen is necessary for preventing the Godsmen join action from kicking you out. But it seems that you can easily get dual faction membership with Dustmen or Godsmen if you join Chaosmen after you get the initial joining quest but before you complete the final joining quest.

How did you ditch the anarchist for Sensates? And does that mean you now have godsmen - chaosmen - dustmen and sensates? and do their abilites all work? (Dead truce and Sensory touch) and could you now equip godsmen, dustmen and sensates specific equipment? What did you mean factol of godsmen? Sorry, I know I have a lot of questions but it just seemed really interesting.
