So, the BG series will continue...?

Post by nOone »

The final movie sequence made it seem like there will be a BG3...at least that's how I interpreted it. If that's the case, are we going to see 20 or 30+ level characters in BG3?!? Did anyone else pick up on this, or was it just me? If others have, (and I'm not that familure with AD&D) what sort of enemy/monsters would be battle against?!? In BG2 we fought dragons and I thought dragons were the some of the most challenging monsters in the game (with exception of wizards). If we are able to advance to levels 25-30+, dragons would be nothing. What's left? Who would be the bad guy? Daddy Bhaal himself....mmmm?

and we would be around those level, I guss we are going to fight those basterd:
-Tarask
- Gods

(hrmm come to think about it, if there is on other 3, maybe it will be a god thing and we will take our places? hrmmm... )
all possibilities are there

What about offspring? With all the romances in this game, and no mention of arcane contraceptives, it is conceivable that they take that storyline, and start out with 1st level characters.

I'd quite like that actually, what with all the honing that's been done on the infinity engine. If this were the case, hopefully it would be a game with enough depth to allow the player to advance all the way to at least 18th or 20th level.

Or whatever. That'd be my guess.

Have you seen how well BG2 has done critically and commerically? BG3 I'd say is a shoe-in, but the catch being, as you mentioned, what are they going to do as far as those insanely high levels go. Maybe throw in more demilichs is the only thing I can think of.

I noticed that too, about the ending.

I won't spoil it for anybody, but it definitely looks like a "to be continued" kinda thing, in fact I was almost waiting for the "Next Week on Baldur's Gate" preview.

Maybe that's because I watch Buffy and Angel so much.

Ah well, it was a cool, ominous ending, but personally, I would not want to start a new game with 6 level 17 or 18 characters, in the end it just got too complicated.

I think definitely that we should start at level one in the next one, and to be able to go until around level 18 or so would be very cool.

Anybody ever considered this might simply introduce an expansion pack?? Working from the expansion pack (which wouldn't be nearly as long as a full game on itself), they could indeed work onto the offspring ...in other words, the expansion pack would continue the romance, in the end settling, getting children, etc...

In that light, it becomes nice to see what the powers/abilities of the main will do when mingled with those of the romance options.

Well, until now we've been fighting the nasties on the Prime Material... Facing a Balor on the PM is tough, go face him on his home turf and it's a whole new story. I think some extraplanar adventuring is in store for us! Personally, I'd love to see a Spelljamming element thrown in to an expansion pack or BGIII.

I am proud to announce to all you ladies and gentlemen the story behind BG3!!!

This is exclusively brought to you by Ubik. The scenario goes on like that:

The main char (me, you, anybody) gets together with Viconia. They marry, give birth to a child, then another one, then another one, then viconia insists you take a vasectomy and you do so. Turns out that she was pushed to rush you into that decision by a guy named Ilithius, who is as a matter of fact a cusin of the brother in law of the sister of Bhaal's wife (yes, the god of murder had a wife, kids, a VW and a house in the suburbans).
Meanwhile, time passes and you find yourself in the age of 60, trying to fit your big, fat butt of yours into the armor you wore when you were 20, so you can go on adventuring.
Ofcourse, you are going to take with you your old comrades, so the sequel will be called "Baldur's Gate 3 - in the dawn of life (oldies do it better)"
There is a subplot with Minsc trying to pork Imoen, but repeatedly failing, so he turns his attention to you... you get the picture.
If you want to know more about the plot, just say so Image

Creatures: what about a Dracolich (a dragon lich - yes they do exist in the Forgotten Realms, anyone who played Curse of The Azure Bonds will remember them).
As for the Dragons, you do know that each dragon has an age category (Wyrmling [1] to Great Wyrm [12] {12 categories in total}, and that the dragons we fought here would only be in category 5-8 tops!!. Trust me, an Age Category 12 Red Dragon would kick our asses. The average level that a party of 4 would have to be to kill one with no deaths is 25 (this figure is on befalh of D&D 3rd Edition)

As for fighting Gods, Gods are immunte to damage from mortals (yes, even +5 weapons). And while we have fought a few Outer Planar creatures, what about a Pit Fiend, or Balor. Evil Titans?? What about the Gods staff: Yochols (Lloth), etc.

As for the levels, if Interplay are going to stick to AD&D 2nd Edition rules, then the max level will be 30, as after you reach level 30, the only way up is to become a demigod (which wouldn't be a bad idea for the VERY END of them game). And to do that, you have to pertition a god and if they like you, will gove you a quest, and you need to get around 500,000 XP to do it.

Have Fun

From the end movie, I would guess that there will be a BG3 and it will be about you, and not about your siblings/offspring/hamsters. Also, I believe that there will be an expansion pack as well, since the official BG site talked about things they might add in an expansion pack. Let's hope for both...

If you think that is strange, wait till you hear about the new episodes of the BG saga, called "Bhaal goes bananas"... in it the Allmighty god of Murder will be smoking grass, getting laid with everybleedingbody (he did that allready prior BG, how else would he be able to have ALL these children?) and finally decides to start a carrier in the fashion bussines.
Ends up Imoen doing the catwalk with daddy's creations

Have fun!

Hey guys the BG story is suppose to be continued in Netherwinter Nights. I read that somewhere (donno where though).

They might make an expansion pack a la Tales of the Swordcoast though.

The sequel will in fact be a mighty sex romp featuring Benny Hill, called something like 'My you do have a big sword'.

Either that or it will be you (protaganist) and Imoen in something called 'Bhall Intentions' where she propositions a wager, where the prize is imoens body to do with as you please Image

Of course it could be my sick mind that has come up with these stories, but you never know.

no, no, no, mr Sleep, it is not your sick mind (or mine) but I think you went peacking on the BG3 scenario. But, again, I think i saw a more kinky approach to the scenario. Like Imoen settling down to a nice farm with Jaheira (she IS lesbo, she MUST be! That romance should be for a female protagonist Image) they adopt two kids, one of them turns out to be Bhaal's child and so on... it could be called "Baldur's Gate: Next Generation" Image Image Image

Would it be one of those films where they actually use toys Image

BTW Benny Hill IS DEAD!!!

And i do not think anyone has risen him from the dead...

But, again, Bhaal is supposed to be dead too, so what the heck, it is ok
