(blushes looks innocent, strokes beard, fondl.... nevermind) I think the sequel of Baldur's Gate will be the upcoming Neverwinter's Nights. Becuase the game stated, during one of the loadings, that you can import your character for Baldur's Gate 2 to Neverwinter's Nights so that is my theory. (And I hope it is right because I want to know what happens next to the child of Bhaal and I want to know soon.)
the most obvious explenation to a BG3 or Neverwinter Nights story line is, you settle down with one of the characters in BG2 and have a child or two. Those cloaky guys, seeing you as weak or something, kill your character from BG2. If its two children then they get seperated only to meet up later in the game, if its one then he is raised by either a mage/fighter/thief/whatever guild and you are eventually told the fate of your parents(oryou find out on your own). You then set out to get vengeance.
