Why do you like Jaheira?

Post by Rodion Raskolnikov »

How come so many of you like Jaheira? I think she is an annoying "besserwisser". What is it that appeals to you?

I personally hate the guts of that bitch, but (as you should know, if you are over 18 at least) A LOT of (us) men LOVE the bossy all-knowing style of females like Jaheira.
It is in the genes (of some men), I guess...

I could give you hundreds of reasons to why I like Jaheira the most.

Okay so she may not have been much in BG1...and she hung around with that looser Khalid...but the way she has improved to BG2.

That face (easily the most attractive female of any game through all history, and I've played quite a few during my lifetime)...her voice (find myself reloading just to hear her conversations)....and so much much more....

I have even completed the game with just my fighter/mage (true neutral) and Jaheira (true neutral)....and I've succesfully romanced her during three separate games.....sometimes I find myself playing BG2 just to "see" and hear her again......isn't she wonderful????

Though my preference of Jaheira is not as overwhelming as Karembeus I must say that I find the character very useful troughout the game. A decent healer and warrior she's a good addition to any party, not to mention that the insect plauge spell makes enemy mages a lot more manageable.

I personally find other characters a lot more annoying but each to his own I guess.

Jahiera would be perfect if she had Aeries voice and a lliitttle less attitude.

Take her anywhere I would.

When she starts the attitude thing, I just wanna backhand her sometimes. Most of the time she's nice, but when the rep gets to heroic, she constantly spouts about the balance, and I wanna kill innocents just to shut her up!

The Jaheira romance just feels more like a real romance to me. It's about a shared experience, unlike the other two romance scripts where the conversation and events are very one sided.

That's a good way to put it Drakron... though I would say Aerie is about whining you to death Image

Dont know about you guys but..

I would rather be boinked to death than whined to death. Actually out of all the different ways to die. A boinking death would be my first choice!

If you boink her fast enough you may get a heart attack and do just that my friend. Either that or she'll throttle you at climax in some bizarre Drow-sex-death-demon-pleasure/pain ritual.

I have absolutely no interest in the "romances" involved with any of them. That is a part of the game I find mildly annoying to be honest.

I am starting to like Jaheira now as a group member though. I was considering dropping her but have changed my mind.

Why do I like Jaheira? 2 little words - FIRE ELEMENTALS!
The druid spell works much better than the mage version, and these really kick butt. Often they can take out an entire enemy party alone, since they can't be hit by less than a +3 weapon!
Minsc may have Boo, but no NPC has anything to match the power of that one spell, at least for the first 2/3rds of the game.

Sooo many good reasons to keep Jaheira around.

1)Quests, dialogues and Romance threads add depth to the game.

2) Get a decent Scimitar in her hand and she can hold her own.

3) Insect Summoning and Fire Elemental = 32oz can of whoopass ( extra chunky ). I've kinda grown attached to the Fire Elementals..sometime I'll take just my character with the Cromfayr and a Fire Elemental and clean out an entire room or two while the rest of party just hangs back.

4)Her portrait is easy on the eyes ( and I'll bet she shags like a minx! ). But seriously, despite branding myself with a loser rating of 10, the romances are one of the best features of the game.
