Old Hero for new quests?

From what I know about the game, I do not think that it is possible. Checking around, I have found no mention of it. Remember, however, that I have not played this game.
Either way, is there not a part of the game involving you as a child, which would make it very difficult to transfer the charcters and fit it into the plot line?
Most likely, you will just have to recreate your character.

Also, TLC adds in a number of silver quests... some of which are only available at certain times, so by installing it you could miss out on quests, which prevents you getting the full value.
Also, this way it would make the game appear longer, and therefore, more worth it.
