Gargoyle Removal Service

Post by Aznbabygirl101 »

This is my first time playing a malk, and this is the first time i've had trouble with this quest.

i went to strauss and talked to him but he refuses to tell me that he made the gargoyle, and he also won't give me the artifact, i'll ask like "who made the gargoyle?" and he'd be like "this is tremere buisness neonate and none of yours" and i've been through every single dialogue option i can think of, should i just go and face the gargoyle without the artifact?

It is possible to face the Gargoyle (and defeat it) without the amulet.
It is possible that he will not tell you that he made it because your Persuasion may not be high enough.

How high is your persuasion? 6 should be enough for most quests and dialogues.

If it is persuasion ... Did you do the plaguebearer quest for the Anarchs and, if so, did you tell Straus about that? I can imagine he won't be handing you sensitive information if he knows you work with the Anarchs.

Edit: I went back, there is a persuasion line in your dialogue wih the Tremere Regent when you talk about the Gargoyle, 'Who is the Creator of the Cretin?'. My malkavian has persuasion on 6.

i just did it as a malk and he told me but i can't remember if i used persuasion or not in the conversation. i do now that i found the book beforehand in his chantry on gargoyles and i persuaded him earlier to tell me what he really thinks about lacroix and sucked up to him a lot. he even said it was nice to see someone with so much insight and potential or something like that during an earlier conversation. maybe he will only tell you if you have been really nice to him and sucked up to him a bit. or maybe it is a persuasion thing as i had persuasion of 7 by then anyway lol (sure i never used it though)

You need to have picked up the book on Gargoyles and Persuasion 5.
