Muddy Hunt Quest not activated

Post by MaxC »

Hi all,

I have not been able to finish the Muddy Hunt quest for some reason. I have gone to the Skyline apartment 2A and have listened to the tape recorder many times. Unfortunately, when I go to the place across from the Last Round, there is no hanging dead body, or the homeless guy.

I have updated to unofficial 1.8, could this be the reason?

I had this too, but don't remember too well. Did you do all related things in Santa Monica (including listening to the machine in the room near your haven and talking to the keymaster, ehrm, bailbonds guy) prior to breaking into appartment 2A?

I have done all the related quest in Santa Monica.Although I saw the bailbond person after I broke into apartment 2A. Did you ever get it fixed? or did you leave it in the end?

Updating to v1.8 should have made no difference at all.

For a good synopsis of the walk through, I would certainly check these: Jumpin' the Bail and Mudd Hunt. The information here is consise, goes step by step, and has yet to let me down.

I don't really recall, might have been in my first game, which I didn't finish, or I might have gone back a save or two.

You could try reloading a save game before breaking in, go to Kilpatrick and then to the appartment. Shouldn't take to long by itself and at least you'd know if this is indeed the problem.

I've done this before (this is probably my 3rd or 4th run of the game), its just this time nothing happened. I thought I might have missed a step so I already went through the walkthrough to check.

Going back a save is a bit late now as I will be heading into Hollywood. I was hoping that it might be a timing thing and just 'turn up' later. Looks like I'm going to have to miss it unless I find the console command to set it right.
