Thought I was sneaky

Post by Rodion Raskolnikov »

Little problem here: I thought I was sneaky and went to Kangaxx early in the game where I pickpocketed the Ring of Gaxx and wimped out of the fight. Now when I return, I can't kill him, which sucks. Anyone know a way or do I have to settle with one Ring of Gaxx (which I believe was the original idea anyway)?

With the damage he is taking he should be long gone ("desintegrated") but he just won't. (I have killed him in another game so I know he is tough - but not that tough).

Interesting note, Kangaxx regenerates, too. I tried to tackle him at a low level (too low) and the only weapon available was the Staff of Rynn. No one had staff proficiency in my party (stupid, I know). Minsc was hitting him so seldom, that after 6-7 minutes, I finally got Kangaxx to "almost dead". That's when he turned yellow and panicked. By the time I cornered him again, he was back to "injured" again and my magic protection ran out. After several reloads, I finally had to beat him with my cleric, of all characters. I can't believe they would have something this powerful regenerate. It just didn't seem fair. Now he's dead, though, so I'll change my tune.

Try this...
Have a mage memorize several wizard eye spells. After you waste the lich, and the demi-lich spawns, cast the wizard eye in front of the skull. Keep careful track of time because you may need to cast additional wizard eyes. The demi-lich will try to take out the wizard eye with imprisionment spells (to no avail), while your parties thumps him with +5 weapons (Mace of Diruption +2, Holy Avenger and +5 sling etc).
Good Luck!

Something interesting i found out about Kangaxx is that if you have your main char protected from undead with a scroll...he won't die...because he has to say his dialog and he cannot see him/her...so he just stays at near death and never dies.

He's not difficult at all with two key elements.

1- Spell Immunnity: Abjuration, lasts 1 round/level, level 17 would equate to a little over 1 and a half rounds.

2- Sling of Everard +5, no ammo and +5. It's slow, but with anal-man, jaheira, viconia, or aerie laying a long-distance smackdown with it, he's dead.

You should have around 5-6 slots of Spell Immunnity. You could try and get fancy by dumping a fire elemental behind kangaxx, but make sure you don't use your slinger, so this way you can keep up consistent damage.
