Thief most powefull PC?

Didnt mean to sound like i was ranting or nothing, but if i put up a post saying beastmaster was most powerful class it would get alot of negative remarks. I was not saying the Kensai/mage is the most powerful merely that it seems like it to me and a thief dont. I was merely explaining why i thought that, not trying to be mean or anything.

earlier in this thread someone asked people to post their THAC0, not a realistic character(cheated to gain experience points), lvl 37 kensai dualed to theif up to level 40. mainhand THAC0 is -38. hehehehehehehe. but still a good demonstration of what is possible

Again, I will state, a thief is like a sniper. Is a sniper the best soldier? They can be, depending on what you are trying to do.

That certainly wasn't my intent. Gruntboy's always edgy, though.

I just feel there needs to be some more direction to get something out of such a conversation. I highly enjoyed the discussion about which class would be king in a PC vs. PC duel. I felt people talked about strategies for each class and others could learn how better to use your favorite class while you learned something about theirs. Here, it's been too general, IMHO. I thought if we talked about "which single or multi-class character fares best in single combat against the monsters in a game", or something to that effect would be more productive. If people are enjoying this as is, I'll not get in the way.

Powerful...yes
most powerful...no

if we are not talking effeciency=good class then I will have to put the sorc. infront of the thief. the assassin seem to be more powerful than theif too.
but I agree that he is one of the most powerful.
