How to use BG2 .wav files on your PC

Post by mitheral »

Hi all,
does anyone know how to use the .wav files from BG2 on your computer (ie: Start-up, New mail notification, etc).

Someone told me (from another forum) that www.sorcerers.net has a program to let you do this, but i can't find it.

Anyone know how???

Yeah first you need the Bifstripper program...I forget EXACTLY what page it's on, but if you download the walkthrough/cheatsheet for BG I from Gamefaqs.com , near the end it should tell you where you can find it. The Bifstripper (Ignore the name, it has nothing to do with Biff the understudy. *laughs*) takes all those .Bif files BG is so fond of and makes them into .Wav files and the like. On the same page where you can find the bifstripper is another program that you'll need to make those .wav files into USABLE .wav files, and unless you know another way (I don't, I'm afraid, though I'm sure there are tons), that's the only way to make them usable for your sounds. I haven't actually tried this, so if it works, by all means let me know!!
