I am playing KotOR, and it is really acting up. I just boarded the Ebon Hawk for the first time, after escaping from the collapsing Davik's estate, and I used the gun turrets to destroy the Sith ships. Then comes a cut scene where Bastila suggests we stop at Dantooine, I agreed, and another cut scene or two come up. Then, it freezes on me. On the screen is what looks to be the beginning of another cut scene, perhaps, but it won't go anywhere. The game has been acting up before, such as the controls acting strange, but I have always been able to get past it. This, however, I cannot get past.
I am not sure if maybe its a bug, or if my computer is being weird. If anybody has any advise on how this can be fixed, or knowledge of a patch that can help me, PLEASE let me know.
Thank you for you time.

Have you downloaded the latest patch (in other words, have you downloaded a patch in the last 2 years or so)?
If so, have you played the game on your computer before and had it work okay?
Have you tried reloading from your last save point and running through those scenes again?
If you answered 'no' to questions 1 and 3 then try that and see if you can get through the scene. If you answered 'no' to question two then it could be that your computer is having an issue with the game software (or maybe just an issue with itself). Regardless, if you've downloaded the most recent (and I 'recent' loosely since this is a fairly old game now) patch and tried reloading from a previous save and still can't get through, there's not much else I can suggest.
If you've tried those things, but still aren't having any luck, go here:

It's the Bioware Kotor tech support forum. You might have to sign up before you can post your question, but you stand a good chance of finding someone who knows how to help you there (as good a chance as anywhere else at least).
Sorry I can't be more helpful. Good luck!

Well, I downloaded the patch, but it didn't make a difference. Its probably just that my computer doesn't have the guts to run the game properly. Which makes me sad, because I really want to play the rest of the game!
I will try the other site though, and see if I can get any help.
Thanks so much for the suggestions!

I posted this from the Lucas Arts page a while ago, but I can't find my reply so I'm reposting this procedure. Try this if you have an ATI video card.
If you are encountering slow performance after arriving on Dantooine, please try the following:
- Make sure you have the latest drivers for your Video card installed from the manufacturer.
- Close down all background applications that may be running in windows prior to starting the game to free up system resources
- You may need to edit one of the game's settings files to adjust your graphics options.
Open the folder for the game on your harddrive. The default location is C:\Program Files\LucasArts\SWKotOR for Knights of the Old Republic, or C:\Program Files\LucasArts\SWKotOR2 for Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords:
- Open My Computer.
- Open the Local disk (C).
- Open the Program Files folder.
- Open the LucasArts folder.
- Open the SWKotOR or SWKotOR2 folder.
Double-click the swkotor.ini or swkotor2.ini file here (and choose Notepad.exe if it asks what you want to open the file using) and under [Graphics Options] please add the following line (it is case sensitive so capatilization and spaces are important):
Disable Vertex Buffer Objects=1
Click File on the menu bar and choose to save the changes, close the window, and then try running the game once more to see if the game now plays properly.
You may want to reverse this change to the ini file (by removing the Disable Vertex Buffer Objects=1 line) after playing through this area of the game to see if the game performance is fine elsewhere without this setting.
