Windspear hills problem

Post by bjornsemb »

As i remember it, theres supposed to lots of vamps in a room in the windspear hills dungeon, but that room is completly empty. But on several other places in the same dungeon, there are groups of golems, with 1 clay, 1 stone and 1 iron golem in each group and i defenitly dont remember encountering them before. Has anyone else encountered this problem??? Need help!!!!!!!

As Craig says, much in this and other quests are based on your level. If you're "low" level the game will remove some enemies and if you're high level, it will add more enemies.

In comparison when I last time did the "Shadow Lord" quest - that dungeon was littered with Bone Golems, Greater Mummies and Lichs. (Thankfully the liches was popped by Amonens Turn Undead before they could cast many spells :D )

There are also at least two rooms with several golems in the northern area of that dungeon, but it doesn't sound like you're referring to that group.

The game uses some form of random generation. While most of the enemies in a dungeon will remain the same no matter your level, some groupings will change with level. The golem groups you're talking about can be Hobgoblins if you're lower leveled. As for the missing Vampire question, sometimes the enemies don't load properly, just make sure everyone exits the room, make sure no one has line of sight into the room, and reenter. Should work the first time, but give it a couple more tries if it doesn't.

not random generation, it's just a different encounter table. different monsters for different character levels.

I remember being similarly surprised when I recently took my party through the Umar Hills, after leaving most Chapter 2 quests until after I'd completed Chapter 4 (in this run-through). Whomever would have expected vampires and greater mummies down in Amanuantor's old stomping grounds? :D
