Well - I've yet to hear any release date for non-german versions. They "keep" saying they are fixing the game (Granted I'm not following the game much anymore, seems pointless) but seeing as how long its been under "fixing", I' starting to wonder if something is wrong, and it infact is turning vapo-ware :p :D

No, no release date. All I know is that some fans are hoping for mid 2006. Apparently they are adding new armour, characters, weapons, and the like. It would be nice if they gave us an actual timeline.

However, there have been no updates on the official site for closing on 5 months. The last was another eview for the german version. Ah, if they translated the game, instead of the scores and the reviews, I would be happy.

Oh yes, and they also totally forgot to tell the fans that the german version went gold. Yes, no mention at all on any website I could find except for those not actually run from the company, and those that I found were members actually pointing it out.

Personally, I think that project is pretty much dead. Especially when a site for a 1979 band is higher on the list for a search engine, even after adding on 'release date' and 'game' onto the end. Oh, well, another game with a chance for a good future bites the dust.
Well - I've yet to hear any release date for non-german versions.
The French and Spanish versions (the Polish version too I think - not sure though) were already released. Those versions had their own problems though, with translation and bugs (even new ones).

I honestly don't know what these guys are doing. I wouldn't anticipate much, or nothing at all. The translation is done, if I understood some allusive hints Carsten Strehse gave correctly. He said once that the English version will be different form the German one. Because the American gamers have different expectations or something like that. Perhaps it would be best to look at the English version as a different product.

The latest patch updated the game to version 1.9 and is said to eradicate all remaining bugs. It adds some content, changes some gameplay-settings (weapon- and enemy-balance), stuff like that. I have yet to try it out though. After the third patch or so all euphoria was gone. It's sitting on a shelf now as my Nr. 1 dust catcher. I'll give it another try after I finally finished Morrowind and have enough of Civ4. Version 1.9 looks promising.

It will be very different, if what I read some time ago was true. New weapons, levels, characters... well, you pretty much summed it up here;

Since entire areas of the game have been moved, altered or deleted all together to be replaced with newer versions, that is, in some cases, true.

The center is still The Fall, and it still has the same cast and the like, but there are many differences. What I was getting this from is closing on six months old.

Yeah, the French version got out it's last patch some time ago... given that I can actually understand most of the French language (Woot for bilingualism countries) still, even though I ended my courses in it some time ago, I may end up just seeing if I can find a French copy on Ebay, to see if the game is as great as they say.

@Hill...if it makes you feel any better, when The Fall was in mid development, the band was still higher in Google. :eek:

My second language isn't really good enough to play a game and appreciate it, so I'll have to keep hoping for the best. I really would love to get my hands on an English version though seeing how I'm still not sure how Bethseda would pull off a 'good' Fallout 3.

So it isn't dead after all! :cool:

I honestly can tell the difference between how the game looks now and how it used to look though.

The irony is that just after I checked there, the news page was updated. Apparently the engine for the english version is finished, the reasonf ro all the new screenshots.

Funny, really. Considering the news for the past few months (4 months with nothing at all) and the topics that the news was on, I thought the project had been put on hold.
