Problem with "Elizabethan Rendevous" (SPOILERS)

Post by Talyo »

I have a problem: The boat that is supposed to take me to the Elizabeth Dane isn't at the beach.

The quest description is telling me to got to the Santa Monica beach, and I assume that they mean the one with the thinbloods and Merculio (slap me if its somewhere else). I have talked to everyone at the last round, and i cant talke to nines anymore. I reported back to LaCroix, and he tells me that i should got to the beach, and doesnt say anything else. If there's something I missed, please tell me, I want to get further with the game, as i really love it.

The boat (it's a black Zodiac) isn't easy to see. When you walk onto the beach, you should see E standing at the edge of the beach staring out to sea. Go down beside him to his right. The Zodiac is black, a short ways out in the water, and slightly to your right. You should be able to spot part of it's outline if you look carefully. Wade out to it, jump in, touch the motor to start it, and off you go!

Evidently spoilers:

This comes up frequently. The boat is there, but it is a little black boat on a big black sea. It is actually just off the beach, in the swell, a little right of centre (so nearer the stairs to the house than to the pier). If you have auspex or Protean, activate them to see it (if memory serves, Protean is best). If you don't, your best bet is to run out into the swell, keep trying to go forward. I always end up having to jump onto the boat, so you have to do that too. You will find the boat eventually, but it takes some time, and is rather frustrating.

Hope that helps.
