I'm not sure how many here would remember Shining Force 1 or 2. It was one of those early to mid 90's games, that went right under most radars. It was the precursor to games like Final Fantasy Tactics, and Ogre Battle 64 and such. A Strategy RPG. Very fine game, to say the least.
Anyway, Sega has decided to reinvent the game, with Shining Force Neo. Here's a link: http://www.sega.com/games/game_temp.php ... iningforce
For those who remember the game, I think it's easy to believe it when I say I'm quite excited about this. Here's hoping they don't drop the ball on it.
Shining Force's Return
I loved the second Shining Force game. It's a pity this installment will be PS2 only, or at least that's how I'm reading it. Still, I'm a bit skeptical about the new gameplay they are introducing to the game. SF2 was one of the better Strategy RPG's I've played (I was a big fan of it, Ogre Tactics, and FF Tactics). As such, I'm less than optimistic about the transition to action RPG.
I read about this months ago when it was still in development. I'm still cursing myself for selling SF 2, 3 disc 1, and StHA.
I'm lacking a PS2, and want this game. My conundrum is, will it be worth spending nearly $200 to get the game and play it to get a system AND the game? I'm a hardcore fan of the series, however, I'd hate to be dissapointed if I were to invest that kind of money.
Yet, I did lay down the cash to buy a GBA SP to be able to play the new remake of SF on it. This new game looks gorgeous, and if they'd be willing to make more...I'd dance for joy.
Also, there's the dissapointing Shining Soul ventures I picked up for GBA. If this new one turns out to be anything like that, I wouldn't be interested. There's a large difference in what the two game systems are capable of however. If it happens to be anything like SF 3, I'd drop the money as soon as I had my hands on it to try SF Neo.

"You can do whatever you want to me."
"Oh, so I can crate you and hide you in the warehouse at the end of Raiders?"
"So funny, kiss me funny boy!" / *Sprays mace* " I know, I know, bad for the ozone"
