Crashing Problems

Again I come, hoping that you all that have played this game inside and out and know it a thousand times better than I ever could might be able to help me out.

I've been playing BG2 for a while. Finally decided to buy ToB. I installed it this past Saturday. Now, every time I play the game (Shadows of Amn, still haven't entered the ToB setting yet), it crashes me to the desktop five or ten minutes into the game.

Now it won't say any errors. It'll just drop to the desktop, and that's that. A friend of mine told me there may be errors that needs patches or something.

Usually, I'm wary of installing any such patches on my computer.. but.. do you guys think you may know what's wrong? I've been playing BG2 fine, but since I installed ToB, it's going crazy doing this dropping thing.

Could it be that I need some patch? Could it be that I am playing the Shadows of Amn with the ToB CD in my E-Drive? Any ideas, please.

I would definately reccomend you go and install the latest official patch, hope it helps.
