BGII language version change?

I am a new player to the game and very much enthralled.
Is there any way to switch to the English language of the game (SoA), I've currently got the Italian version but am finding the dialouge less interesting than I imagine it should be

this is just a guess as never tried it, but do you get the option to choose the language when installing? if so you could backup your saves folder and reinstall then copy the saves folder back to the correct place.

You could try just installing the English patch to the game. That will change the text, although not the audio. To get the audio, you'll need to find someone who has the English version of the game and ask them to send you the audio archives, which total a few hundred MB all told.
