Punishing Tony (continued)

U2 - New Year's Day Lyrics
Yeah...

All is quiet on New Year's Day
A world in white gets underway
I want to be with you
Be with you night and day
Nothing changes on New Year's Day
On New Year's Day

I will be with you again
I will be with you again

Under a blood red sky
A crowd has gathered in black and white
Arms entwined, the chosen few
The newspapers says, says
Say it's true it's true...
And we can break through
Though torn in two
We can be one

I...I will begin again
I...I will begin again

Oh...
Maybe the time is right
Oh...maybe tonight...

I will be with you again
I will be with you again

And so we're told this is the golden age
And gold is the reason for the wars we wage
Though I want to be with you
Be with you night and day
Nothing changes
On New Year's Day
On New Year's Day
I think that God in creating man somewhat overestimated his ability.

I'm tearily remeniscing in front of the computer... *sigh*

Oh well another one to kick the habit...

U2 - Sunday, Bloody Sunday Lyrics
I can't believe the news today,
I can't close my eyes an make it go away.
How long, how long must we sing this song?
How long? Tonight we can be as one.
Broken bottles under children's feet,
Body's strewn across a dead end street,
But I won't heed the battle call,
It puts my back up, puts my back up against the wall.

Sunday, Bloody Sunday.
Sunday, Bloody Sunday.

And the battle's just begun,
There's many lost, but tell me who has won?
The trenches dug within aur hearts,
And mother's children, brothers, sisters torn apart.

Sunday, Bloody Sunday.
Sunday, Bloody Sunday.

How long, how long must we sing this song?
How long? Tonight we can be as one.
Tonight, tonight.

Sunday, Bloody Sunday.
Sunday, Bloody Sunday.

And it's true we are immun,
When fact is fiction and T.V. is reality,
And today the million cry,
We eat and drink while tomorrow they die.
The real battle just begun.
To claim the victory Jesus won,
On a Sunday, Bloody Sunday,
Sunday, Bloody Sunday
I think that God in creating man somewhat overestimated his ability.

*looks suspicious* Lestat, I was prepared to overlook the random acts of kindness; I bought the sophistry with which you explained Phreddie getting to see what he liked on your psychic gizmo's. Now you are lachrymose. I suspect you are really going soft, sir :speech:

Oh well. Something less Lachrymose, if only because of what happens to the eyeballs...

PIXIES - Debaser Lyrics
got me a movie
i want you to know
slicing up eyeballs
i want you to know
girlie so groovy
i want you to know
don't know about you
but i am un chien andalusia
wanna grow
up to be
be a debaser, debaser

got me a movie
ha ha ha ho
slicing up eyeballs
ha ha ha ho
girlie so groovie
ha ha ha ho
don't know about you
but i am un chien andalusia

debaser

This will make you feel better, I think ;)

Poisoning Pigeons in the Park

I'd like to take you now on wings of song as it were, and try and help you forget, perhaps, for a while, your drab wretched lives. Here is a song all about springtime in general, and in particular about one of the many delightful pastimes that the coming of spring affords us all.

Spring is here, a-suh-puh-ring is here.
Life is skittles and life is beer.
I think the loveliest time of the year is the spring.
I do, don't you? 'Course you do.
But there's one thing that makes spring complete for me,
And makes every Sunday a treat for me.

All the world seems in tune
On a spring afternoon,
When we're poisoning pigeons in the park.
Every Sunday you'll see
My sweetheart and me,
As we poison the pigeons in the park.

When they see us coming, the birdies all try an' hide,
But they still go for peanuts when coated with cyanide.
The sun's shining bright,
Everything seems all right,
When we're poisoning pigeons in the park.

We've gained notoriety,
And caused much anxiety
In the Audubon Society
With our games.
They call it impiety
And lack of propriety,
And quite a variety
Of unpleasant names.
But it's not against any religion
To want to dispose of a pigeon.

So if Sunday you're free,
Why don't you come with me,
And we'll poison the pigeons in the park.
And maybe we'll do
In a squirrel* or two,
While we're poisoning pigeons in the park.

We'll murder them all amid laughter and merriment,
Except for the few we take home to experiment.
My pulse will be quickenin'
With each drop of strych'nine
We feed to a pigeon.
(It just takes a smidgin!)
To poison a pigeon in the park.

*steps in to prevent spam thread turning into song lyrics*

STOP! This isn't a song lyrics thread. It's a spam thread designed for random spam and not long song lyrics posts that take forever for me to scroll down past. :( :D
