Aerie or Jaheira [Spoilers]

My male bard PC is currently playing with both Aerie, Jaheira and other NPCs. I am at a point where Jaheira tells my PC to let Aerie down easy, meaning I have to choose between the two. I am torn right now, on the one hand Aerie is the one that always talks to my PC, eventhough I realize that the Jaheira romance takes time. But I don't know what to do, I like them both. Jaheira seems more mature, but Aerie seems very innocent eventhough she complains about loosing her wings, but I understand. Can I reject one of them without none of them leaving my party? Who would you say would be a better romance in the long run?

I think it is personal preference ... but you have to choose. I liked Jaheira better, and took her all the way through ToB. I was a mage so I could just drop Aerie early on.

Who would you say would be a better romance in the long run?

Depends whether you prefer whiny (Aerie) or nagging (Jaheira) :mischief:

Personally I find Aerie the more bearable of the two. To be honest for as many people as you get telling you to choose Aerie you'll get just as many going for Jaheira. You'd probably be best flipping a coin.

I actually had Aerie ask my character if he had feelings for her, and I chose that point in time to let her down easy. I assumed telling her my character cared about her would push the romance to its... ahem... climax. Jaheira never got around to forcing my character to make a choice before that happened.

And personally, I like Jaheira better. I don't see the presentation of her character as nagging, but rather clever and direct. I find Aerie's characterization to be vapid and clingy.

It's all relative - we react differently to characters depending on our own personalities and preferences.

"Clever" and "direct" can come across to some as patronizing and bolshy, as I'm sure "nagging" could just as easily be construed as helpful advice.

Thanks, I think ultimately it bears down to my preference. I think I will have to choose, more then likely it will be Jaheira since she seems the more mature out of the two.

you can have both in your party at the same time as i always play with both jaheira and aerie (unlike a lot of people i actually quite like both of their characters). mind you i never romance them either as usually play with a female pc.

I'm a Jaheira fan too as the maturity helps and I'll take nagging over whiny anyday... Never actually found her a nag however, but like everyone else said it comes down to preference.

In fact this post probably didn't help you at all... Clearly posted for selfish reasons... Hmmm.... Must work on that....

I prefer Jahiera over Aerie both because of the character design, quests and simply class strength.

I just can't stand Aerie's whiney, crybaby tactics over and over again so I never get her in the first place. Jahiera is a much less abrassive on my temperment and her romance is a little more subtle.
