Yep, the landlord is willing to cover for the cost of the laptop (as he is responsible for security), but it is the loss of the files on it that really made me wanna cry... and hit someone with a sledgehammer.

Well I still have a meager hope. The landlord send someone out to try and 'recover' (buy back) it in the shady places and I put my own feelers out. I don't really care about the loss of the material or money but I WANT MY FILES BACK! They also stole a pair of shoes and a halfbroken down old lap top. Luckily they left my CD's, DVD's and Games alone...
Alas only little hope to recover my stuff...

No not yet......the meeting I was supposed to have got "delayed"...and we have rescheduled for Monday....I'm not entirely sure that this new job would be the right thing for me.....but, theres nothing to loose by having the conversation...!

@Juni, No, he does what he wants. It's sort of a thing we've come to the conclusion if we give him something he wants, he'll be good until he's bored. Punishing him doesn't work.

I got promoted a few years ago at a job, management promised me things, never followed through, and I quit after months of arguing with them. If you're happy, it might be better to say to them you need the option where you can go back to your old job if you try the new one.
