I don't like Death Metal either, far too grim and death-filled (obviously) for my taste. I guess I prefer Power Metal so far.

I never knew how many types there were...
What about KMFDM, they're Industrial Metal. :p

And there's Viking Metal....

I see that Ravy needs to be introduced to the joys of indie-pop, trance, and congobeat. To name a few. :D

Heh. Just ask Fibey about types. He's the walking encyclopedia on such things... :D

Or you could look at this... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_metal :speech:

KMFDM are new to me too. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KMFDM

@Lestat, *sigh* Please don't be the next person to introduce me to some type of music. :o :p

... Or just Rock, Blues and Jazz :D .

WTF is Congobeat?! I have some kind of idea, but is that actually a popular genre?

I like Hymnals, Christian Rap, a new blend of techno and Gospel, and I am trying to start a Christian Metal band. I am also hip with Christian Rock.

My cousin is starting a Punk Rock Christian band I think.

Agreed. I hate rap, someone I know said it was:
R- retards
A- attempting
P- poetry
I don't mind hip-hop, unless it's by one of those half dressed people who really can't sing OR dance.

Christian Metal?

That sounds like such a contradiction to me. :p ;)

@Kitten, sounds like a great description of Rap to me.

I hate the Gangsta-rap stuff that's just some idiot talking about shooting people, raping women and smoking weed. The old rap, Public Enemy, RunDMC, I like.

@ Phreddie: Oh that is so you Phred ;) .

@Chus: That explains alot then  :D ...

@ OS: They seem to be en vogue right now... There's this one some girl I know likes, if i could just remember the name... The very concept, however, is retarded  . That's like merging Rap and the Lifetime Channel :p .

Maybe not the moment, but I really like some rap. Some of the old school rap (NWA), but also the newer ones (some of what Eminem does e.g.).

I'm from Detroit and can't stand Eminem  ... I have some respect for the balls it takes to say the stuff he does, but I don't like him or his music. NWA was ok, but they're responsible for much of this Gangsta crap, so I have a hard time liking them.

Eminem's not bad... like Brother Tony said, the stuff that just talks about killing people and woman who touch themselves just for the guys (it's WEIRD) and drugs, that's just stupid. (IMO)

God and you can't dance to the crap either: I want to dance to some good music when I actually get off my rear and do it, but Lil Wayne and Big Bow Wow and all this crap aint cutting it for me... You dance the same way to every rap song because they are ALL JUST BIG BASS BEATS! AGGhh! Doesn't anyone groove to Aretha or Otis Redding or Chuck Berry or Somkey Robinson or even the darn Byrds anymore?!?! I hate it! GAAAH!

*head explodes from anger overload... again*
