What Guilds are you in?

Post by OneWingedAngel »

What Guilds are you in and whats your favorite one? I personally like Morog Tong, (however its spelt) just the thrill of being an assassin is fun. :D I'm in all of the Guilds so far, (the ones you can get into) and I have a question, can and how do you get in the Commong Tong, (spelt it wrong) its the one the Thieves guild is waring against.

You cannot pass go, do not collect $200, zilch, nada, zip.

*sigh* No Commona Tong for OWA, or Athena. : /

I've been in the Mage's, Fighter's, Thievs, Imperial Legion, Morag Tong, and House Hlaalu. I enjoyed the Morag Tong and HH the most because I found their tasks the most interesting and the rewards worthwhile.

As for the Commona Tong Athena is right, it's impossible to join them: they're nothing more than a plot device really.
"Be thankful you're healthy."
"Be bitter you're not going to stay that way."
"Be glad you're even alive."
"Be furious you're going to die."
"Things could be much worse."
"They could be one hell of a lot better."

I've been in the Fighter's, Mage's, Thieves', House Redoran, Imperial Legion and Cult and the Temple.

Cammona Tong are completely opposed to Outlanders like your character and so it is impossible to join them.

I'll typically join all guilds. Hopefully, the experience is a bit more limited in Oblivion, so the experience of each game forces strategic choices. We'll see.

The Commona Tong was the most fun, given the different nature of their quests. Among houses, Telvanni was also the most amusing and challenging to me.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

Morag Tong--my apologies. You know, the leader of both groups likes his pasta heavy with garlic, so you kind of mix those things up... ;)

During my last game the only guild I was actually a member of was the Blades, because I was trying the Freelancer mod. Didn't last long, I missed my friends at the Balmora Corner Club and Mages Guild.

In the past I've played them all bar House Redorn.

There's hope if you're playing on a PC***SPOILER***

You can join the Camonna Tong legally, in game. You must belong to House Hlaalu to do this, however. Here is how:

The last quest for House Hlaalu from Duke Vedam Dren, Orvas' "favorite" brother, you replace Orvas Dren as leader of the Camonna Tong and House Hlaalu. There are three ways to "convince" him to step down, my favorite is the fight fire with fire method. Go on a reading quest in the basement ;)

You don't get official standing, but the Camonna Tong isn't exactly an official organization, now is it? If you want official standing in the game:

open the console, type pcjoinfaction "Faction name here" in the instance of the Camonna Tong it would read, pcjoinfaction "Camonna Tong" WARNING: Do NOT join the Morag Tong in this manner. It glitches the missions in a causality loop! If you want to shortcut the Morag Tong join, do this:
open console, type coc "Vivec, Arena Hidden Area"

Congratulations***SPOILER***

Then you are the head of the Camonna Tong and House Hlaalu. The Camonna Tong label just isn't official. The Duke tells you the only way to become Grandmaster of House Hlaalu is to deal with Orvas Dren. If you do the speaking methods(and I think you didn't, so you missed it), Orvas states that he wants to retire and leave someone else in charge. You are the head of the Camonna Tong, it just doesn't say it.
