So cruel ... they're all just lonely - no one in Morrowind seems to interact with anybody but the PC.

I hate it when the game crashes for no apparent reason ... as it does every so often, and usually when I haven't saved for a while.

I hate it when NPCs tell me to "move along," "make it quick," or that they "haven't much time."
I usually have no intention of talking to them, and often they are blocking my way, making "moving along" quite difficult.

Crash

I have found that crash will happen when your RAM memory gets bogged down(sometimes the vid card). If you can't upgrade your memory right away(or your vid card), turn down visual options or save and restart on occasion. If your system isn't to blame, I can't imagine what's causing that. It happened to me when I was running near min requirements.

The only thing about Morrowind I would change(and therefore hate) would be the annoyance of Cliff Racers and Rats attacking you even after seeing you whack a foe far superior to them selves. Some might say they are just animals, but animals know when to retreat too.

If you are on PC, there are several mods that deal with the problem

Probably should've mentioned...

My comment was mostly about looking forward to the Radiant AI in Oblivion, but I haven't seen one of those mods. I will look for them. I mostly download mods that change skins and add choices in character creation.

Thanks for the suggestion!

I hate it when that happens to my Xbox. The game freezes, or my cord gets unplugged.

As light as they are, why don't you carry around a pair of tongs?

I really, really dislike encountering people everywhere I go who have the same stock, standard replies to the same comments I've made. It's like attending a filming of Vvardenfell Night of the Living Dead.

This is one of the reasons I'm currently editing Morrowind Comes Alive, as much as I enjoy the "lived in" feel it gives many of the cities, many of the NPC's are too similar.

Actually while I'm griping about Morrowind Comes Alive in some places it spawns far too many characters - there have been times that I've been upstairs in Arille's trade house and there have been more people crammed into that tiny space than wondering around outside.

You might try the LGNPC series, if you don't already know about it. That was an attempt made about 1-2 years ago to rewrite the vanilla dialog for named PCs in various cities, and add some quests, as well. One or two conflict with quest-specific, local mods, but most don't.

In any case, I'll be waiting to see how unique the dialog is per character in Oblivion. My guess is that the best will still be coming from modders, at a latter point in time, but hopefully I'll be wrong.

And now, since we're slipping off track--I also hate the way you can acquire all the benefits of a guild as soon as you become a novice member. This does't make any sense, and it runs counter to the way Daggerfall worked. Unfortunately, Daggerfall took the opposite to extremes, and it seemed like forever before you got even modest benefits. There's another MW mod that makes guild benefits act like modified Daggerfall: you still have to work your way up in a guild to gain access to the better services, but it doesn't take that long.

Yes I've got most of the relased LGNPC mods - I'm edititng them too.

Back on topic another thing that irritates me about the game is trying to navigate around the inside of shipwrecks. It's far to easy to get stuck and accidentally drown.

I completely agree. Between the wonky visuals (all water simply looks murky), askew surfaces and mediocre controls in 3D movement, it was easy to get stuck in a corner or simply lose track of the entrance point which was seldom obvious. Once this happened a couple of times I took to always mark/recalling on ships.

Ditto here. On a similar topic, I really hate it when my character gets stuck somewhere because of jumping around just at the point when I have finally reached an important destination or found an important item, somewhere out in the wilderness
I usually have a close save point, but still, very annoying.

btw, regarding the water's murkiness, I know I have seen a mod that clarifies the water, though I've never used it myself because I was concerned about the fps hit. Though, I'm thinking of tracking it down, now that I'm using Abbot's Water Life.
