I'm hoping this is the right spot... I think it is.
Several people here have animated signatures, and even I had some back in the past... but now, I have tried to upload my latest one, and for some reason, it says 'you may not upload animated images'. It fits the pixel size and kb size, so I'm not sure why it would not be allowed.
Look forward to any response.

Animated Avatar
In memorian: Fiona; Ravager; Lestat; Phreddie; and all of those from the 1500 incident. Lest we forget.
There are no rules against animated avatars as long as it follows all other forum rules and the technical specifications of an avatar.
As far as I know it seems to be a bug with the current board that new animated avatars doesn't seem to work for most people - there seems to be a pattern that moderators can upload animated avatars, while regular users can't.
I think Buck is on the case of bugfixing it - but if it is a bug with the current board software or similar, a solution could be some time into the distance.

For the meantime, I recommend talking to Ravager about it, DJV. He somehow got his animated avatar to work, so perhaps he can do the same for you?

Yeah, I thought I had seen this mentioned previously, and wasn't sure if it was fixed. Thanks for the information, I await it being repaired .
And Hill, I will talk to Rav, but he might have had that up there before they didn't work, anyway, I shall have a talk with him .

At first I thought it was the number of frames (or the number of distinct frames) in an animated avatar that may be causing the upload problem. But I just tried an animation that I've seen used on GB before and I received the same 'You cannot upload animated images' error.
Is there some kind of hidden VBulletin restriction on these? Perhaps added/reactivated when the forum version was updated.
Anyway, I hope it's fixed soon.
I'll just have to stick with my current avatar for now so I don't lose the ability to upload it again.
