Better sword than carsomyr

Post by Alzar »

Theres a better sword than the Carsomyr but you have to create it in the console.

Create yourself a "killsw01" from the console. It has the graphics and story for Long Sword +2: Varscona, but when you equip it, you get the following bonuses:
-35 AC bonus
Counts as a +10 weapon
THAC0: +50
Damage: 1d10+1000, +1500 fire, +1500 magic, +1500 cold, +1000 piercing, +1000 slashing, and an additional 1000 of undisclosed damage
8 attacks per turn (if you get more proficiencies, you'll get a max of 10 attacks per turn)
100% magic resistance
Immunity to: charm, panic, sleep, slow, stun, fatigue, hold, confusion, feeblemindedness, web, and some others
There are no race, class, or alignment restrictions on it, so everyone can use it

This seems to be the weapon that the programmers assigned to the invincible killer thief in the Thieves' Guild which spawns if you kill Aran Linvail while working for him.

That sword is GREAT. I love watching all my enemies explode from 1000 points of damage in 1 hit!! I brought it in right as I was about to fight Firkagg and I croaked him with 1 swing. It only did 715 points of damage though so he must have been protected somehow :-) Pretty funny!!

Upgraded Carsomyr is better than most of those weapons you mentioned two. Better than impaler and the answerer definately. Some of those weapons may do more damage but lack good equipped abilities like Carsomyr. I do agree however that Carsomyr +6, Staff of the Ram +6 and Ravager +6 are the most powerful 2 handed weapons in the game. Gram the Sword of Grief is on par with Carsomyr IMHO. As for the Answerer- I used it once and realized that most enemies don't last long enough for it to be that useful. As for short sword of Mask- Its really good for thieves, and not for warriors, because you can't backstab with Carsomyr and warriors don't need the enemies entangled because they don't need to escape.

The big drawback of two-handed weapons is the fact that they take two hands to use (duh).

Take the following dual wield combo, for example:
  • -1 AC, regenerate 3 HP per round, +1 Constitution
  • Strength set to 25
  • 1 extra (off-hand) attack
  • Vorpal hits
I'd say that compares rather favourably to 50% magic resistance. Deals loads more damage too.

Meerlight, I was just making fun of how stupid that weapon is. The game is unbalanced enough with too many powerful artifacts without using debugging tools.

Upgraded Carsomyr is marginally better than normal carsomyr. You get like an extra what , 2 possible points of damage ? Woooo. Carsomyr, is IMO the most over-rated weapon in the game. I'd rather dual wield Crom Faeyr/wet noodle.

Actually Answerer is not bad against the biggest foes. Notably dragons, and demogorgon. Not the best, but I'd say the bonuses are better than anything Carsomyr can do.

I'd rather take any of the two-handers I mentioned over Carsomyr any day of the week. Well maybe not Impaler, but the rest without a doubt.

I agree with Xyx....a good combo like the one mentioned is far better than any 2-h weap IMO.

I'm having so much fun with the Ixil's Spike. I've built up Mazzy's spear proficiency and she is great with it. It's great to have her and Sarevok wacking away at some bad buys, and then they all of a sudden stop fighting back, sit on the ground, and just take the wacks. They always die before the spear head would release them.

To Alzar: Don't you think that it is just too much. It would unbalance the game significantly. And, do you have to have TOB installed to get the weapon?
