Strange bug in SOA

Post by hamstermutiny »

I'm playing BG2 without TOB and I've encountered a very strange bug.

5 of 6 characters gained a level at once.(My paladin one of the five.) When I leveled them 3 of them gained 3hp, 1 only 2, and another only 1. This is at normal difficulty. (I thought whenever you leveled at that difficulty you got a full hit point roll.) I have reloaded a saved game several times with the EXACT same results.
If it doesn't sound like a strange bug yet, here's the kicker. My Paladin has a con of 19. It's supposed to gain at least 6 hitpoints a level (At least that's what I assume from the manual and what happend in BG1...) and yet its only gaining 3.
Has anyone else encountered this problem or am I just crazy?

This is normal. After a certain level, fighters, rangers, and paladins get 3hp, per level, clerics and thieves get 2hp per level and mages get 1 hp per level. That's how it works.

Yes, that must be it. Never had a character advance that far before. Thank you.
