Heh, that it does. It's funny, everyone keeps telling me I need to try expensive wines, and I have. I really do like cheap wines better for taste. It saves me sooo much money. I like having cheap tastes.
HeeeHeeee.....well good!
I dont have the budget to drink expensive wines either, ....though I did get a BEAUTIFUL bottle of chardonnay for Christmas....I toasted to you with it last night!
Expensive wine is a treat for special occassions...
:speech: :speech: I think I understand what you are implying. I am shocked. Is that peculiar to Belgium? There's certainly no such tradition in Scotland. That's Beltane
In the link that Juni provided Hoog min dag was suggested as one of many possible origins for the name Hogmanay.
And I read "The Mists of Avalon", yes, I'm aware of some traditions linked to the other festival, or as the little ditty goes:
Hurray Hurray
The first of May
Outdoor (naughty synonym for lovemaking) starts today.

Toasting to me was a special occasion?
My brother's girlfriend just showed up. She seemed upset I was here. Good thing I'm leaving in a few minutes to go clean up my old place.
I got chewed out by my feminist model friend for my comment to the pretty lady who was flirting with me yesterday on my walk home. She doesn't get that everyone has their own perceptions of what is acceptable. So long as I get a positive and happy response, I don't think I've done anything wrong. :mischief:
"You can do whatever you want to me." "Oh, so I can crate you and hide you in the warehouse at the end of Raiders?" "So funny, kiss me funny boy!" / *Sprays mace* " I know, I know, bad for the ozone"
Stupid errors making me double post trying to see the page.

Hmmm. Flemish, I see. Another example of Belgians refusing responsibility, like translating proverbs into english, perhaps? You seem to be a sneaky lot, IMO
I read the Winter King, btw. It was good but I missed the magic. I think you liked it because of that lack, but I like my mythology with the sorcery intact, mostly
Well, it was the first time....
She was offended?
 Interesting we both drank to each other last night. That's cute.
My friend was, the girl grinned at me and blushed, so she wasn't. *shrugs* My friend will get over it, I didn't upset any females.
My brother keeps spanking his girlfriend, I think they're anxious for me to leave with Josh.
LOL! and you were a perfect gentleman!
To you, yes, bye bye!

Well he tried an approach close to what could have been the historical truth.

I know. I'm not dissing it. It was a perfectly legitimate thing to do and he did it well. I suppose I just see some stories as kind of archetypes, and historical truth is not relevant to that in my mind. TH White's Once and Future King has lots of magic at the start but then that largely disappears and he focusses on the domestic drama more than Cornwell. I liked that too. It's good that different authors treat the same material so differently and I'm glad I read it. But for preference I like a bit of magic, is all
Oops. Sorry if I sounded a bit curt. That was unintentional
In my defense I must say that my work interferes the whole time with my posting...

Well, I could be considered middle management I suppose... that makes that sacking & giving warnings is part of my job... not the nicest part, but luckily the rarer part.
But yes a lot depends on work environment. At most places I worked it was fairly relaxed.

Employers can be so unreasonable ( though you and Juni seem to do very well. I can't use work machines for leisure at all. It's a sacking offence )
I very fortunate to work in a really laid back place......
