Bao-Dur a jedi?
Bao-Dur a jedi?
I was wondering if it is possible for Bao-Dur to use the force some people in the forms wrote that they made him a jedi I was wondering how it was done? Do you need to have pc or xbox version or do you need to be light or dark?

Same as all the others. Get enough influence with him. Then, you will talk more about his past, in which you should try to be as sympathetic and percieving as possible.
You will then get the chance to speak to him about it. Do not end the conversation. Do not turn him down. This is your only chance with Bao-Dur.
Good luck.

Unlike all the other characters that join you, Bao-Dur cannot be Influenced during conversations. You must take him as one of your companions during the game. While playing with him, he will watch what you do, commentating on the way. If you show mercy and help people (the way of the Jedi). He will praise your actions and you will gain Influence. If you do not he will get upset and you will lose Influence.
So, try and act 'good' when he is around and when you have enough Influence, he should open up by himself and start spilling his guts. When chatting to Bao make sure to chose the 'nicest' dialog options and then when you hear everything he needs to say, he should ask you if you would train him.
All that you have to do after that is say "yes".
It takes work, but in the end, it's worth it.

I found it odd that Bao-Dur didn't have much of a "life story" to share on the Ebon Hawk. After all he did spend much time with your character - the General - and I thought there'd be much for him to impart. There were a couple of times where Bao did share some of his memories with you, but not too often. Maybe he just wanted to bottle it all away inside, surpress and... Forget.

I missed a bunch of Bao-Dur influence points already and now am scrounging to try to get him a few into a few more precious situations. It's kind of a pain in the ass really. I almost want to say screw it and leave him as a tech which seems to be a really cool class for him to stay as anyway. On the other hand I want to get the "complete" experience so will try to get him all the way. I'll leave the former idea for when I replay as dark side.
if you turn Bao-Dur's alingment to the dark side i belive he also gets thode tatues not sure about this thol
Sort of. He gets the black parts, but not the red, so he ends up with black and flesh-coloured patterns.
You'll know Bao-Dur's ready to be Jedified when you click on him and he tells you 'Being around you has had an effect on me, General' (or something similar). Then follow that dialogue option.
Bear in mind though, that once you jedify him he only gets 3 skill points per level, so if you're a Guardian (or have low INT) you might want to keep him as a tech. Also bear in mind that he can't wear robes, so you'll either have to give hi clothes or have his Force Powers limited by armour. He's probably the person who it's least worth jedifying. Another problem is that AFAIK everything that gives you +INF also gives you LSP, which can be apain if you are DS (unless you're trying to jedify him by getting a high -INF, of course)
Some ways you can get +INF with him:
1) Telos academy: when you release BD, he apologises for having been captured. Tell him there's nothing to apologise for. (LSPs)
2)Naa Shaddaa: when you first go into the main area, you trigger a man being threatened by thugs about a debt to the Exchange . Solve this in a LS way (pay his debt or say he's under your protection), you can get +INF with BD. BUT he is very far down the list; almost ANY other character present will get the INF. So you need to have him on his own (or with T3) for hi to get the influence. (Also gives LSPs)
3) Naa Shaddaa: You can get +INF by healing the sick man to the right of the door as you enter the main area of the refugee area. I haven't worked out the order of priority for getting INF here yet; you may want to have him on his own to be on the safe side( you can't change your party in the refugee sector, so you may have to plan ahead if you want this one). NOTE: you need a fairly high Heal to do this one (Also LSPs)
4) Naa Shaddaa: if you mend the airspeeder in the gang base (the one that lets you teleport between areas) you can ask Atton to check your work. NOTE: you can only do this before you trigger the message to go to the Jekk Jekk Tarr, which can be hard given the bug ridden nature of the influence-with-the-exchange stuff. SECOND NOTE: you can only get the parts you need to mend the airspeeder if you solve the Ithorian in the flophouse quest to the Light Side, so again you take a LS hit for getting this influence
5) Dantooine: once you find the atmospheric sensors in the crystal cave, ask BD to help you examine them. Then say 'thank you'. For once, no LS hit!
6) Dantooine: when you challenge Akkere about his hydrospanner being in a droid, ask him to explain. Listen to his sob story, then offer him some money to help. Again, BD is fairly far down the influence list ( anyone other than Hanharr present will get the INF instead of him) so you need to alter your party before doing this.(LSPs)
That's all I've been able to find so far. (In depth study of INF? Me? How can you tell?)

These are all Nar Shadaa...
Also:
Onderon: giving a Visa to the family and the Republic agent gets you influence and LS points...
I think you can get influence in the conversations with Mandalore...
LS and 'techie' type stuff gets you influence with Bao-dur...

Several other influences for Bao-Dur:
- Nar Shadaa - Have him and Kreia in the party, complete Lootra's quest, LS. Defend your action when Kreia gets mad, and say that you would do the same for anyone in your party.
- Onderon - Dxun - Find the Mandalorean trapped up on the ridge, help him down, say that the was is over, then promise not to turn him in for influence.
- Onderon - Merchant District - Use Force Persuade (Dominate Mind required) to prevent Ponlar's riot in the town to gain influence.
Oh my, seems I always got to have Bao-Dur in my party since you dont get any influence with him abord Ebon Hawk or by ordinary conversations.
Im almost finished my second game but he still is hard to get bright light
what i did with bao-dur is just add him using the party select menu just before the bits where you get influence then afterwards deselect him again. that way if you don't want to use him at that time you still get the influence.
the first time through i never got my head around all the influence and making jedi stuff as i never use a walkthrough etc. first time and try to figure stuff out on my own and by the time i realised i had missed most of the influence points or got a mix of bad and good influence. this time though i decided to get bao-dur up to level 16 tech before changing him to guardian as that way he has more than enough skills if i ever need them, and he is also pretty handy with a lightsaber. as for the armour, i just have have him concentrate on the powers that are not restricted by armour (there are more than enough of them - as a guardian he does not get loads of powers anyway, especially as he will not have as many jedi levels as the rest of my jedi)

Are you sure about this? I've seen this quoted in several walkthroughs/influence guides, but I can't seem to get influence with anyone from the LS version of this quest. When I complete the quest to the DS(blowing him up), no problem, I gain (or lose) influence. But whenever I kill the bomas and save him, I get no INF with anyone. I've just tried it with just Bao Dur present, he's not maxed on INF (he's not jedifiable yet), but no result.
I'm wondering if it's because when you click on the Mandalorian to get him down from the ridge, it triggers a cut scene which automatically teleports you some distance. After the scene ends your companion is somw way away; maybe he's too far away to 'see' what you did?
Has anyone actaully managed to get INF from the LS version of this quest?

Your companion does need to be near by to get the influence from events - if they are too far away, then they can't start their dialogue. I haven't played the game in a while, but I do remember getting some influence for this event. Have you tried talking to him back that the camp, after reporting back to his commander?

you have to talk to him again after killing the beasts. i got +inf by doing it the lightside way. if you go back to where the explosive detonator is and walk up to the cliff you can click on it to speak to him again while your party are with you. after saying the right stuff in the conversation, bao-dur says you did the right thing and you get +inf with him

Yes, but Bao does have to be standing close to you when you talk to the Mandalorian or you don't get any INF.

When all else fails, try brute force.

The influence side-quests has made me even more addicted and meticulous about KOTOR 2 than the original.
In case you haven't heard enough people say it, I got influence with Bao-dur after saving the Mandalorian.Alcina wrote:Are you sure about this?

Both will get you LS points, but only giving a visa to the Republic agent will get you influence with Bao-dur. I tried giving the visa to the family with him in the party and it didn't affect him.Greg. wrote: Onderon: giving a Visa to the family and the Republic agent gets you influence and LS points...
