Food? What for?

Post by Wrath »

I've been playing fallout for some time, and I finished this game several times. Still I didn't find out what is the food for..? When I said food I was refering to 'Iguana on a Stick' (or somethin' like..) and 'Nuka-Cola' etc. After all, what's that for??

PS: ow btw, I almost forgot... and the drinks? Like booze, and so...? I'm aware that they make your perception lower for a short period of time... but is there any good thing they do?
thx for the attention

Nuka Cola + Fruit + Stimpack = Super Stimpack.

Just ask Myron :D

I think some fruits can give back a bit HP if you eat them...
Also, some foods may be used to "quests"
SPOILER!!, highlight to read!
For example, if you give food to the dog in Klamath, it drops a key
END OF SPOILER!!

But generally, there is not so much use for foods, and I haven't heard before tabou that Super Stimpak -recept.
Have to check it later...

There are a few quests that includes alcohol, but mostly booze and beer, and there are a lot of rags around the game, that will help you if you get them something to drink.

(Father Tully, Saltbeef, Junkdealer, etc.)
Equalization is good.
Payback isnt.

If you "Use" booze on people it lowers their perception. 5 or 6 bottles of booze (10 if you want to make *really* sure) and you can pick locks and open desks right in front of most people, then pick their pockets as you leave, and most the time they won't notice a thing. (But save first, just in case.) Good way to empty all the lockers in the NCR Police Station without fighting.

As for Nuka Cola, it's a great way to make infinite money. Buy one from a Nuka Cola machine for one coin, then sell it to a merchant for three coins. Repeat until you have all the money you want. Of course, it's going to take a loooong time!

Besides healing, eating the weird fruit has a chance of irradiating you. Actually, that's not a bad thing, as you want to be irradiated when you first visit Dr. Troy.

Eating is the obvious answer, I do remember one encounter I experienced homeless people or something to that effect. On a whim I found out I was able to give them each beef jerky and recieve experience points.

I don't remember experiencing that encounter again though, think it was in the top end of the map near Modoc or the Den.

yeah, I had that encounter once and they started shouting "We're hungry! We want food!" and they attacked me!
sure, I fried 'em all with my pulse gun (: angel :) , but my karma was around 1000 on that encounter, so I can't find an obvious reason why was I attacked...
What do you want?
