New Group Quest!
Hey everybody! I am announcing a general open invitation to take part in a Group Quest to find the Holy Grail of weapons...The Demonblades.
Join us in scouring all the hidden places and chests in the entire world of DL until we find them. Up to this moment, we've heard of no one finding any one of these three, very elusive, rare, and very powerful magic Heavy Weapons, except in a trainer...
Here are the stats from the Equipment Database:
Demonblade of Athulla
Skill: Heavy Weapons
Damage: 8 - 26
Range: 6' 5"
Strength Req: 56
Demonblade of Baal
Special: Lvl 9 Magic Weaponry
Skill: Heavy Weapons
Damage: 9 - 30
Range: 6' 5"
Strength Req: 58
Demonblade of Charrus
Special: Lvl 10 Magic Weaponry
Skill: Heavy Weapons
Damage: 10 - 34
Range: 6' 5"
Strength Req: 60
Often in ancient times, not a few Great Knights were drawn to seek out many rare, lost, priceless items, like the Holy Grail, or the Philosophers Stone, which were said to have magical properties! They often went on such quests over many years of great hardship and peril, even to the point of spending the lives of their retainers and great fortunes...We deem these items worthy of such a quest!
Those who join must swear a sacred vow to persevere until our quest is successful! (or not) We will post only important progress, as we eliminate one option after the next, so as not to clutter the thread with false leads. Perhaps it would be a good idea to organize, and have various missions assigned or volunteered for, so we can cover more territory in a shorter period of time. If anyone has some good ideas as to how we could more efficiently perform this quest, please let us know. If you are interested post a reply to this thread. See my TOTD thread for more details...lol
GW
p.s. It will be helpful if your char was started with the Fool of Fortune Heraldry. This is a creation Heraldry which is only available when you choose your char's vital stats in the beginning. This will give your char more luck in finding rare items when openning chests.

FYI: If you're playing 1.3 or below, then the heraldries don't do anything. Good luck finding those demonblades.

Thanks for pointing that out SWC. I neglected to say that all chars on this Quest must have started fresh with 1.4!!! So far, Mellez (who started me on this whole thing in the first place in my TOTD thread) and myself are both running DL with 1.4. Anyway there is a very strong chance that the DBlades can only be obtained after you're running with 1.4 in any case. We just don't know. But we shall see...thanks,
GW
p.s. The 1.4 German to English mod works great! Thanks InDoMiNaE!

Possibility
You are probably already aware of this, but i would like to point out that there is a lvl.9 chest in the maze of Irynthabl exclusively containing powerfull medium-heavy weapons. It might have the potential of granting you one of the DemonBlades.

Player: "Elves have strange powers."
Sten: "Being easily conquered does not constitute a 'power'."

Potential Container 2
Do however take note that one must take use of goldenwarrior69's advice on how to acquire the armor of your desire. (Tip of the day, looting in the Tomb of Souls).
The chest is believed to be located on the targeted area in the below attached map of Irynhtabl.

Tryin' to put some RP back into RPGs
Well Mellez, It look's like its just you and me so far...
Good idea to go online for this!
However, I'm a bit disappointed, (but not too much) that other than the Dark Lord Ashtaroth (cool name A, if you know the historical reference!) giving us some good advice, no one else seems interested in joining us in this Quest to find the DBlades. This kind of self made side quest makes RPGs alot more interesting for me, especially after having already beaten a game!
Maybe this kind of thing seems childish to some. I guess they forget that it was Dungeons and Dragons Role Playing that started it all, and inspired this game and all the games like it! I was just trying to put a little bit of the RP back into the RPG!
Anyway I'll be ready to go online with you late Sunday night my time (GMT +2). I am ready to take it to the limit man...I'll have 5 hrs or so available...MSN instant mess will help with coms...
If any one else wants to join us let us know! It would be cool to have a troop of gamers uniting for a single focused purpose. Challenging another group to reach the same goal, to see who reaches the goal first would make it even more interesting! If this sounds like fun to anyone out there, show us what you got!

Mellez Rocks!
Sorry for disappearing guy's, but I had some severe computer problems...fortunately I know how to build and trobleshoot 'em so I'm back on line!
Mellez you rock! I'm glad you were the first to find one of the DBlades! You focused on the object of your desire and you didn't give up! What kind of magic strike does it have etc? I assume you were running 1.4, with your Deathlord char?
Anyway the quest is not over yet, so we've still got more ground to cover! Here is my first report in this quest:
I went to the lvl nine chest in the southwest corner of the Irynthabl Maze as Ashtaroth suggested, and tried it for about 4 hours, but no DBlades. But I did find some great weapons, almost as good as some of the DBlades! I still have a save at that chest so I'll keep trying...
Anyway I ended up with the two best weapons at one time, the deadly, most impressive, Bladerelic of Night, a Lvl 9 Magic Weapon, Skill:Medium Weapons, has Netherstrike, Damage 8-18, Range 6' 0", and the kick ass,
No-Dachi of Winter, a lvl 7 Magic Weapon, has Ice Strike, Skill:Heavy Weapons, Damage 5 to 23, Strike +2, with Critical Hit +5%! My Crusader char can really tear 'em up with this one running 1.4!
I also found the Great Totemic Mace, Damage 10-24, Rng 6" 10", the Golden Axe, Damage 9-24, Range 6' 5", the Demonic Impaler, a lvl 7 MW, Skill: Light Pole, Damage 8-19, Range 7' 0", Strike +2, the Winter Katana, a lvl 7 MW, Skill Med Weps, has Ice Strike, Damage 4-16, Rng 6' 0" Strike+4, the Double Winter Sickle, a lvl 7 MW, has Ice Strike, Damage 7-15, Rng 6' 0",
...and the two most powerful bows I've seen in this game, the Elven Winter Bow, has Icestrike, Damage 3-6, Strike + 3, and the Warbow of Fire, has Firestrike, Damage 4-8, Range 80', and the less interesting:
Dwarven Flame Axe, Dwarven Nether Axe, Elven Darksword, Jade Sword, Divine Kriss Blade, Master No- Dachi, Blood Reaver, Azure Sword, and the Scepters of: Fire, Evil, and Ice.
I have yet to try that lvl 9 chest in the Irynthabl Maze, running 1.4, but I discovered how to load my 1.3 char in 1.4 with all his weapons and all the 1.4 changes working so I'll try it soon!
Mellez, I'll be in touch...
