Game-Ruining Bug

Post by James »

Whenever I try to talk to an NPC, I get the "NPC appears to be busy" message. I've tried to talk to every PC I can find and every one gives me the same thing, Iv'e also reinstalled the game at least 5 times with and without the patch and the expansion. I never had this problem on any of my other computers before and have no idea why this is happening, if anyone has any ideas I would be grateful.

Happens to me, too. Sometimes I just have to reload and it quits. Other times it does it a lot and I quit playing for a while. reloading generally helps my problems with "appears busy".

This is a well-known bug. It occurs when you install the original, unpatched version of Throne of Bhaal on a computer running Windows 2000 Service Pack 2 (or higher) or Windows XP. The bug was fixed less than a week after Throne of Bhaal was released. All you have to do is download and install the official Throne of Bhaal Patch.

Happy gaming, and Happy New Year.

Thanks guys, apparently the patch I had been using wasn't the "Official" patch and didn't include a fix for that bug. Silly me :P

Happy new years :)

Always load the official one first, then load any subsequent unofficial patches, like Balderdash.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
