weapon/armor enhancing

Post by joewigwam »

Is it possible to enhance your own armor or weapons either with spells or with poisons. If so does anyone know of a good guide on how to do this, if not are there npc's who can do it for you or do you just have to buy/find the weapon you want? Thanks again, guys!

To use any of bellow mentioned spells and characters you must have Hordes of the Underdark installed on your PC.

The spells that you could use to enhance your weapon for limited amount of time:
Magic Weapon
Greater Magic Weapon
Flame Weapon
Keen Edge
Holly Sword (Paladin only)
Blackstaff

To enhance your armour or weapon permanently you must talk to smith Rizolvir in Lith My'athar City Core and latter on his ghost in a bar in Cania [in Chapters 2 and 3 of HotU].

There are poisons available in HoTU (maybe SoU too) that can be temporarily applied to weapons. Assassins get to use them with bonuses too I think. The poisons are available in varying strengths.
Things like Alchemist Fire can also be applied to weapons, but again it's only a temporary effect.

A few cleric spells to add to that list:

Shield of Fate
Divine Favour (Paladins as well)
Darkfire
Magic Vestment

Rangers also have the Blade Thirst spell.

Barun Silverblade

For some reason I cannot get this guy to make me a magic weapon. I have asked him, he tells me to place the items on the Forge ( I assume the Anvil ? ) but it will not let me do this. How do you add the weapon and secret ingredient to the Forge ???.

There should BE a forge in the room with Barun, if I remember correctly. You don't use the anvil. Click on the forge, an 'inventory' window should open, so you can drag your weapon and the ingredients from your inventory into the forge, then talk to Barun again. If you don't see the forge immediately, move your cursor across the room, and the big grey stone thing that lights up is the forge.

Thanks. That was it. I didn't realize that a window would come up. I kept laying the sword on the Anvil which would fall on the floor.

Thanks again
