A dwarf gets up and approaches you, taking the insignia from your hands and turning it around in his.
"No, this is new to me, it's not normally goblins we have to deal with here. They're usually smart enough to stay well away.
Though they've been very active of late. This token could belong to any tribe in the area."

He sighed and then took the insignia and pocketed it "No luck" he said to Sh'rarn, "Is there anything which you propose that we may do?"

"If it's that damned dwarf's fault, I will gut him and feed him to the dogs of Hell. Thankyou for the message my friend, your friend has recovered, as have we, and are ready to continue on. Come Halgrath and Sess, we must be off to assist our companions." Motioning towards the two other members, Kron led off. He was puzzling this over in his mind. Why would Goblins do such an all out attack, they were users of the cowardly, attacking when victory was assured. There must be something else going on.

Being a creature of the underground, Kron had a natural affinity to languages such as Goblin. He would be able to understand the basics, however if the language had been collequilised, as it normally was between tribes, it would make things different.

With this in his head, Sess, Halgrath and Kron, along with the two dwarves, set off in the direction of where the party was.

I'm awarding everyone 1,250XP for the actions so far in the campaign.

The trinkets pocketed by Kazar turn out to be more valuable than anyone would expect from goblins, looks like they've been succesful...until their latest ambush anyway. You recover a pearl of the deepest black (~500gp each), a sparkling amethyst gem (~100gp each), a jade(~100gp each) and a masterwork dagger(~302gp each). You can sell those for the gold or keep some for later if you wish.

Sess, Halgrath, Kron and the two dwarves should arrive at the encampment soon.

While Sh'rarn was puzzling over their next possible step, one of the Dwarves ran into the camp, "I found it! I found the cave!"

Kazar instantly rose, happy that he would see some adventure again, He followed the jubilant dwarf to the cave entrance beckoning Sh'rarn to come with him

Arriving at the camp, Kron and his companions found it to be deserted. "They were here only recently. Quickly we must move with all possible haste." With that, the group broke into a job in the hope of reaching their friends before they entered the next fight, a fight which could cost them dearly.

Still standing out side the cave, Sh'rarn wondered why the dwarf had brought them here, he still hadn't said why. Then they heard the sound of approaching footsteps. Going on guard, Sh'rarn waited to see who drew close.
It was Kron, Sess and Halgrath. He lowered his guard.

"I'm glad to see you three here. We've just discovered this cave, though I'm waiting for an explanation why it's important." looking at the dwarf.

"I saw a goblin run in this hole! I think they're lairing here!"

"Okay, good reason."

So, do you two want to go in?

(I'm just going to finish off and upload a map for the caves. Shouldn't take a minute.
@DJV, if you signed into MSN, that might make this easier to organise for me.)

"perhaps you can let me go one way with a friend and the rest go the other way? We could cover more ground that way, and surely goblins arent that hard to fight." he nodded at the party.

He wanted to argue, to shout at Sh'rarn, perhaps this was his evil streak showing through, if he went with another dwarf, alone he could kill that dwarf and they reap the rewards, claiming to have been ambushed by goblins but this time Sh'rarn had some truth in what he said. You go to the left and are confronted by a huge door.

Sterwick asks, "Should I check it for traps?"

"Yes I guess its best that you do, we don't want to be taken down at our very first door." he ordered to Sterwick, he almost felt like he was in command at htis point, no doubt this will raise problems with his companions

Sterwick identifies a trap that would have sent a giant block of stone swinging in his direction and just about manages to disarm the trap. Obviously no-one was expected to get past the trap and the door isn't locked.
The path branches left and right (choose to go up or down).

Kazar, feeling like the leader again, says "Why don't we go up," he had no idea why he chose that particular route, abit random for him. Hopefully they would land in some trouble with some weak goblins

The rest of the group getting fed up of Kazar's attitude of late decide that's it time to teach him a lesson.
Kazar in his exciteability fails to notice that he's now running ahead of the group. At the end of the corridor, backlit by a brazier is a creature that seems to combine the worst features of a wolf and hyena. It has a shaggy, spotted coat, a bristling mane along its spine and a long bushy tail.

Recoiling in fear, Kazar quickly withdrew his war axe "Nice wolfie, wolfie. Nice wolfie wolfie" he thought about calling to his friends but that would just provoke the what seemed like hungry beast

Kazar deals a devastating blow with his axe and is rewarded with a yelp of pain.
Next the ceature does something unexpected...the skin on it's head peels back leaving just bone and muscle.

Roll Will.
