Statistically it would be rather unlikely that we were the only sentient life in the universe. Freak accident if it was (or divine intervention I'm sure the religous camp would say).
Thus - I "belive" (based on imo common sense) that we are not alone as a sentient species, but I don't think we have been visited by UFOs. The step from beliving life exists to beliving in UFOs is huge, for a number of reasons.

I also consider it far more probable that there exists other intelligent/sentient life elsewhere in the Universe than not.
However, I really do not think Hollywoodesque spaceship aliens actually exist... certainly nowhere in the vicinity of Earth anyway.
Beyond just scientific reasoning and observation, look at it this way....
Any lifeform that had the technology to travel easily across the Universe would have to be highly sophisticated and intelligent... One look at this place and they'd rapidly warp in the other direction...
Do I think aliens exist in spaceships somewhere else in the Universe? Seriously, no not really. I wouldn't completely rule it out, but I consider it *extremely* unlikely.

Well, as we grew more advanced, we ruined our planet more... so, perhaps you reach a point just short of being able to travel vast distances in space, when suddenly *poof* byebye planet.
Apart from that ramble, I do believe there is more intelligent species than just on this planet, I also think that meeting them may not be the smartest idea, because if they were more advanced than us, we would simply appear as beasts and animals to them... and be theirs for the taking.

I must admit that I also believe that there is other(s) intelligent life-form somewhere.

Okay, no offense meant to you or anybody, but there lies one big BUT: When we speak of intelligent life, we are quite often referring life that is similiar to us. Morals and such, all the same. We can not be sure how other species react if they we ever encounter them. The way you described is what we probably would end up doing if we were the "higher" species.
Also, where does it comes that we are the less-intelligent species? It's as possible that it's other way around.

No, I mean if a bunch of UFOs came flying down and landed on Earth, chances are, they are more intelligent.
And that's a good point, I am basing that on what our species would do, but I do base it on one major issue, language.
There is an extremely extremely extremely thin chance that if they landed here, we would share the same language. As such, they would not be able to understand us, further exentuating us being beasts, because we can't talk proper [insert appropriate language here].

So... we are visited by beings from somewhere else in the universe.. considering the distance WE have travelled in the universe, they are probably more advanced technology wise.
Where does it say they are more intelligent? nowhere. But they do have better toys.
And yes, we always hope 'they' have better morals than 'us'. Chances of that happening is about as good as them comming here in the first place

Nothing has been proven, so I'll remain neutral on this. Though, I think the possibility is quite apparent. They don't necessarily have to be either more or less intelligent than we do, they could be the same as us even. Hell, they could be humans just on a different planet, but again, it's not been proven, but the possibilities are not scarce.

Intelligent life forms beyond us is a part of my religion, and so yes. Although, the whole space ship deal? Well, if we have space ships, it's all too likely some other species does, had, or will have some as well. Whether they have been here or not already, that's something I don't know.
As far as the type of intelligent life forms, and moral's and such. Who's to say that the being the Jews, Christians and Muslims' worships isn't one of those "intelligent life forms"? More generally, who's to say any of the other deities people have worshipped are not more intelligent life forms? I happen to believe that it is highly likely other species from other worlds have progressed in a manner, at least one of them, which does not focus on technology. Who's to say whether or not some of them have more advanced minds and can do things we can't? Alternately, they may have technology which is so far different than ours, it seems "mystical" in nature to us if we were to ever see it.

Oh, yes, but that also requires that "they" contact "us". Maybe today's technology doesn't give us chances to make trips to space behind the Moon, but at some point I believe that's quite possible. Anyone actually considerated that we could actually be finally the side who travels and makes contact?

Yes, the chance basically doesn't even exist, it's so small.
That leads to other quite funny thing that I have noticed from films and documents:
Those people, who want to make contact with UFOs, do really believe that they can make themself understood, by characters and numbers and what ever.
Basically, this requires that we both have same ways of think, both of us must have same sense on numbers and such (if aliens even know such, I'm still quite sceptic on this). Also, it seems that colours have been thinked as one way to communicate. And what says that those species really understand the colours same way as we think they do?
Just some questions to think of

I believe that somewhere in the space-time continuum, there are aliens in spaceships. But I reckon their ability to travel through space is just as limited as ours. Do you have any idea how much energy it would take to propel a small spaceship just a few lightyears? Think along the lines of "all the energy we use on Earth in five years" and you'll start to get the idea.
Well, as we grew more advanced, we ruined our planet more... so, perhaps you reach a point just short of being able to travel vast distances in space, when suddenly *poof* byebye planet.
If humans can muster enough energy to travel vast distances through space (which is very unlikely), then yes, they could destroy the earth in a single blast. You don't necessarily have to be at supernova levels to do that. I'm not sure why so many people are convinced that every technologically advanced society is at risk of destroying itself on purpose, but when you play around with power like that, an accident could be fatal.
They could be out of fuel, and trying to acquire some of our concrete for this use.
I'm not sure how concrete would supply them with enough energy to return to their home planet. If you're talking about releasing atomic energy from the atoms in concrete, why wouldn't they use a fissionable material like plutonium? Or dilithium crystals or beryllium spheres?

I'VE GOT IT!
The Ancient Egyptians were another race, and the great pyramids were space ships. This explains how they were built, when it has baffled everyone else. Also, it explains why they had the pharoahs, because they were simply ship captains. And they powered their craft with the use of the batteries involving terracotta pots and some acid with copper in it...
Okay, well that's far fetched, but in some of the pyramids they've found heiroglyphics of flying ships...

That sure is alot of space for just us....why would there be so much space if not for other beings as well
UFOs here..no. That would take alot of energy to to travel from who knows where to here...and since there is no evidence showing any kind of life in our Galaxy chances are it would come from another one....and galaxies arent very close to each other, but then theres no really evidence pointing that there arent in our galaxy either....still it would take alot of energy and intelligence to get here....were talking abouta fast ship and a big one...one you cant miss ..plus an intelligent speices like this wouldnt both to probe people, they wouldnt even come close to us because the ywould know that we would fear them and probably attack them. They would try to send some sort of message before just showing up here....wait now Im just rambling. shutting up now .

I believe that there is intelligent life out there, but then again my views of intelligent life are problably different from most people's. (Let's just say they call it mother earth for a reason )
As for UFO's? I think there a few too many myths out there for it not to be true... 'Cause you know every myth is grounded at least a little bit in truth.

Cool beans man. My premiss is that the life that came here from where ever it is that it came, being far away, is a superior intellect, collective and is based on the notions of prosthetics. Being that it is wich, whatever it is that came here is also like us, fallible and in a declination. Being is search of and in control also, is my belief. When the collective arrived or arrives, it is or was wounded.
Thus all technology and superior notions of healing derive from an exterestial source by origion and by virute of exposure. Thus because of the nature that in it's existance, {(it = E.T.-supioror)}, it is seeking prosthesis, it is in a fall in that from this need for life and in a fallible state it also is the mediator of those negative virutes such as war. Basically life in the E.T. environ is in fact teckno-virus both supported by and sustaining life. Ponder this and conclude as you will.

As far as your question; we are definitely not the only sentient beings in this universe. It would be equivalent to saying that there is only one type of flower in the universe or that all people think alike. I do not, however believe that the other beings are 'little green men' or 'giant cockroaches' but mostly (or completely, though very unlikely) like us. As far as divine intervention, I myself am Christian and believe in what the Bible says; I also believe that there were many errors in translating it therefore changing something such as the word 'universe' to mean 'earth'. Some people however do think that the other beings are much more advanced than we simple primates and I have to say that there is most definitely a higher being than ourselves; some even say that those higher beings put us here in the first place. I disagree there.

Check out this local web site from a guy I know locally here in Phoenix Az. He taught me some stuff about UFOlogy. I used to not believe in any thing from outer space at all untill about five years ago or so. After talking with him and watching lots of video's mostly by amatures, I come to believe that really there is something out there. Now most of the stuff is filmed locally but he has tapes for sale, if any are interested and also links to other cool sites. CHeck out and let me know what you think, also feel free to post other thoughts pertaining to UFO and Life out there.
