Hello, recently started playing divine divinity, I guess I'm about midway through with about a level 17 character.
So I was in the cursed abbey, and stopped for a moment to catch my breath. And then I notice that my stamina is decreasing all on it's own " even though I'm not running or even moving. Thinking it might be a side effect of being in the abbey (it *is* cursed after all) I went back to the farmlands, and my stamina was still being decreased for no reason. So I activated the teleportation pyramid and went back to my little dungeon under Joram's house, and took a nap. But unfortunately, that didn't solve the problem either.
I vaguely remember that having something to do with the weight of equipment you are carrying. It's possible when it's over the amount your character is able to comfortably carry that your character loses stamina.
I don't recall any cursed items in the game, but you still might want to check your inventory just to be sure. DD puts so much into randomizing item variables that it's just possible there are a few which offer strong disadvantages along with very positive benefits.
If that doesn't work, try checking the developer's website. They maintain a very active forum.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
It was a couple of years ago i played this game, but I do recall there is an item that causes it, from a dead body in the abbey. I think it is a hammer.

Hope this helps.[/QUOTE]
Thanks: it was the "halberd of the rock" that caused it.
"there is something strange about this weapon indeed"... pah!
