The Slayer

I was wondering if anything bad happens when you transform into the slayer on your own (besides losing to reputations points). Also in the underdark, I can't kill that beast that the little men with the city want to be killed. Its the place where the little men tunneled too far. The only way to kill it I found so far is with the slayer. Could I have some tips please and please answer my other question. Thanks

you just lose the reputation points and if you stay as the slayer too long you start taking massive damage.
that demon shouldn't be all that hard, but protection from evil 10' radius will help and just whack away at him.

For the demon, i find it helps to summon a lot of monsters to distract him, and keep everyone back till he uses his paralize thing on the summons.

For killing that demon, Bolt of Glory is a very nice trick. Does quite a bit of damage to demons. But since it is a high-level cleric spell, it may not be available to you yet.

As I did my first go through without a walkthru, I had to back-track to be strong enough to defeat this point of the game.

Lower Resistance followed by Disintegrate.

If that doesn't work, lure him into the doorway and then pelt him with Cloudkill, Fog of Death, Incendiary Cloud and Delayed Blast Fireball. As I remmember, the demon can't get through the door (he's too big).

First of all those little men are deep gnomes and if you said that to them they would be quite insulted.
Bolt of Glory is a must. Hopefully you have a rod of ressurection, because there quite a good chance 1 or 2 people wil die. Tip for future playing. Always buy that rod. For some fights its almost immpossible to win without losing a life (usually against dragons). Pro evil 10' doesn't stop it but its evil and so the spell helps like it states. Summon some fodder and maybe even place a few traps. Just make sure the trap setter is far off, because that demon's going to go on a rampage to find that person. Make sure your people are far apart so they don't all suffer from one attack. Cast sanctury on your cleric and heal and then bolt of glory. Bezerker rage or barabrian rage and chatoic commands to stop any enchantment spells. Barbarian rage will basically make you immune to most of his magical attacks. Keep on balsting him with arrows and fodder, while your mage lower's resistence. Have yuor priest cast magic resistence on it and then your mage with lower resistence, followed by greator malison and every offencsive spell you got. 1 or 2 of fighters may die so get them revived.
Congratulatons(if you win) you've beaten a balor the baddest demon in the abyss.
