*Any* way to get Dark Wizard Hat after collecting all books?

After beating tlc for pc, I decided to do a second pass with full evil with a bit of cheating thrown in to keep my age at 18.

I read about all sorts of stuff, including the book quest and the bright/dark wizard hat. What I didn't know is that if you collect all the books before giving any to the teacher, that you're completely screwed for getting the dark hat.

Does anyone have *ANY* kind of method for getting the dark wizard hat after you've collected all the books?

I've been trying to use artmoney to manipulate which books the teacher wants, but no luck so far :/

You're not entirely screwed. I just gave him the scariest books possible, including the creatures of albion books and the arena. Just keep trying, it will happen eventually.

Did you do anything special between retries?

It seems like every time I retry there's only 1 or 2 books difference in what he wants but it seems to hover around the same pattern....

The other land.
A love story.
Jack of Blades
The Dragons.
The Arena.
Creatures of Albion 3.
The Old kingdom.
Creatures of Albion 2.
The Tale of Maxley.

I almost never get a chance to give him any books besides those listed above (once again, I already collected every book needed for the silver key before giving him one).

Also, is there a definite listing of which books are evil? I thought for sure that the Tale of Maxley was evil, but it was the last book I gave him once before he gave me the bright hat.

You can give him a few "Good" or "evil" books and still get the opposite hat. I gave him

The Story of Jack of Blades, The Three Creatures of Albion books(1,2,3), The Dragons thing, The Arena, The Pale Balverine, Eyes of a killer, The Sock Method, The Repentant Alchemist, The Other Land and the Tale of Twinblade
and he gave me the dark wizard hat. But if you already have the good hat, either go back to an old save or make a new file, because you can only get one.

Just take all the books upstairs at the guild(not any in the library and not any in maze's study) and take all the books in lower bowerstone. Then go to the school teacher and keep giving him the books until you receive dark wizard hat. Probably need to be of an evil alignment as well. Funny I just got this hat by accident today for the first time , I had forgotten to get the books in the other locations just mentioned. I wonder if it's possible to get both hats in the same game?

I guess it is possible to get both hats using Hero Save. I read online somewhere that you can't have taken any books, then you need to start a quest then collect evil books and bring them to the teacher and get the dark wizard hat. Then Hero Save and load Hero Save and just collect good books and give them to the teacher to get the bright wizard hat.

For starters I'm am pure evil and I gave the stupid person all the evil books and all I got was the Bright Will Users hat. I really think that it doesn't matter witch ones you give him I think that its all chance. but I could be wrong. :mischief: and for all you know I am.
