hey i feel ripped off - the game ended and said i could continue playing with and exploring with the same character but after they all droned on and practically made me king the game patted me on the back then ended!!!
i tried all the exits while they were congratulating me but they were locked.
i never wanted to leave a room so bad in all my life, at least not since trial of the elders ended...i guess they lied, or did i miss something?
also the old gizzard's nose was twitching indicating an expansion - i'll wait for it but will NOT buy it until it is patched, no more alpha-testing for me thank you
"nose twitching"
Well, you could ...
Goto multiplayer, goto LAN, click Host game.
Click Load Character, choose Last SP Character.
Click Play this character.
Click Start Game.
Once in, hit ESC, choose a spot and save the game.
Exit the MP game. Goto SP and load it back up.
You're basically starting the game over with your old character, except when you get to Fargrove... you have all the Moonbridge Runes lit up and can go anywhere you like with the character you just beat the game with. It will also strip out all relics, keys, and letters.
That's, of course, if you have the 1.4 patch...
help - not quite the answer
i have 1.4 as my last player who beat the game but have since started another game with a zaur - the problem lies in when i go to load character screen only the zaur, lvl 5, not the urgoth, lvl 36, is available, even when i moved the zaur's save game out of the save folder he is still the only one available...even after a comp restart - bummer
any way to fix this? i thought there was a choice in which one you could load - i'm cryin' here :speech: :speech:

You can still use your old character, there's just a few steps you need to take to get him back as the one available from the Load Character button. Load up your saved game with the character you want to use in it and then save the game again (doesn't matter if it's overwritting the old save or saving to a new slot). Quit the game, then go back in and try to load up a new game as described above. Your old character should now be the one that you can select from "Last stored MP Character"
Basically, the "Last Stored" character is the last MP character that you were playing when you saved the game.

Do you still have a save file from the character where you've beaten the game (doesn't matter if it's right before the endboss, right after, or where ever)? If you do, then follow these steps:
1. Go to Multiplayer, LAN, and host a game.
2. Click on Load Game and select the save file I just mentioned.
3. When it lists the characters to be select (on the right of the screen beside your name in the list), click that character and start the game (note: this means you don't click the Load Character button this time at all, your character should already be selectable on the list to the right of your name in the game lobby).
4. After the game loads, save the game. You can either save over the file you just loaded, or save to a new slot. Doesn't matter.
5. Quite the game.
6. Go back to Multiplayer, LAN, and host a game again.
7. This time, do NOT click on "Load Game" at all, but instead just click on "Load Character".
8. On the character screen, click on "Last stored MP character" - this should contain the character you want now. Click on "Play this character"
9. Click on "Start Game" and you'll start with that character in a brand new game.
What it really comes down to is that the character you can select from "Last stored MP character" is the character you were playing when you _last_ saved a multiplayer game. Same with "Last stored single player character". It's the last character you were playing when you saved a single player game. So all you need to do to get a different character to show up is to load up a game that contains that character and save it again.
Let me know if you need more details, I know it seems kinda complicated but it's rather easy once you get the hang of it. I think I'm making it sound harder than it really is. If you're using 1.4 then the only way you won't be able to play as your old character (the one you beat the game with) is if you've already saved over all (or deleted) the files that you had with that character in it. As long as you still have at least one save file with that character, you're fine.

i guess i have to actually load a game before it will work - i did manage to get my lvl 35 player as an option, but on the left not the right.
after i saw it i was able to click on it and it moved to the right, then realized that the comp i was linked to was 1.3 - i will correct this and get back to you later - thanks i REALLY appreciate it
