I love the interface in this game.
The engine has "bog down" problems in large battles (with many NPCS), and the storyline could be improved.
However, the game concept (the UI design) is easily my favorite of all time.
I would love for the engine to be fixed up or rewritten, and modules with great storylines to be produced.
For my taste, that would result in the best computer game of all time, far and away.
I think it's really sad that this game was essentially abandoned.
It is so much better than the crap (especially FPS crap, pardon the redundancy) out there on the market.
Hey Bill!? Bill Gates? How about buying the game and bringing some resources to bear? Give the developers time to get it right. It could be the best computer game of all time!
What a great interface!

You should check out Livonya's mod. It's currently included in co8's latest patch. Much of the dialog is rewritten and several interesting quests/events are added or replaced (several were in the game and just never got started because some of the dialog wasn't working right... Stupid Atari rushing the game to market hurt us bad). Anyway, the AI is also improved, and unfortunately (for some) the game's significantly harder, but in terms of plot and such it's greatly improved. You'd probably like it better.
Also, the guys at co8 are working on creating a shareware game using this engine (free to avoid illegality) but writing a whole new game entirely based on another classic D&D module: The Keep on the Borderlands. If and when it ever gets finished, we'll have another game with the same interface available, and if I know the guys at co8, this is a labour of love, and the writing should be very well done. We'll suffer from some small graphical downgrades, especially in the backgrounds, but still, I can't wait.

(Use the lastest 1.3 build - it's still beta, but stable and far better than 1.2)

I agree you BannerDog. I've played out the infinity engines, and many others, including Guild Wars, and NWN, which are all great, but they really can't compare to this. Its also nice to have a greyhawk game out, which didn't exsist before. Unfortunatly I don't think they'll make any sequels, the game didn't sell too well in the first place.
I saw the mod from Co8 as well, but I don't really want all those changes, just the NPC fixer, so they don't loot.

The nice thing about the new co8 patch with front end is you can pick any combination of setups you want, so if you just want patch2+temple.zip+humble NPCs you can do that. If you decide later to try Liv's mod, you can do that without reinstalling or anything.
Also, Troika went under, so they definitely won't be making a sequel. However, the engine was purchased, so there is some hope another company may take a stab at it. We can only hope.
